The Fleet Status site is:

https://sites.google.com/site/unitedfleetsite/

At the site, you can find information about the interior features, livery, etc., for every plane in United's fleet.

To determine which plane your flight will be on go to mobile.united.com and then click on flight status. Put in the flight number for your flight and just have it use today's date (occasionally it'll say flight not operated on this date in which case just choose one of the other 3 dates it lists). In the address bar you'll see something like this:

mobile.united.com/FlightStatus/FlightDetails?carrierCode=UA&flightNumber=415&flig htDate=9%2F15%2F2015&origin=JFK&destination=SFO

https://mobile.united.com/FlightStatus/FlightDetails?carrierCode=UA&flightNumber=415&flig htDate=9%2F15%2F2015&origin=JFK&destination=SFO

Just change the flight date to match the day of your scheduled flight and then change the origin / destination as necessary. Once you do that look in the details tab under aircraft # and if they have assigned a plane it'll say something like #3506 and the type of plane. Once you know that go to the United Fleet website listed above and cross-reference the four digit number against the "aircraft" column under the appropriate aircraft type.

Keep in mind that things change as they get closer and sometimes either they won't have assigned an aircraft yet or it'll be assigned #0 if it's a few days away and they are anticipating aircraft movement.

You may also check the specific fleet variant of each flight at the United Cargo site under "Schedules & tracking". This data tends to be reliable starting 7 days in advance, but is always subject to change.

INT was doing Dirct TV and still may for remaining 73NGs to receive it. They also do routine maint or types of avionics upgrades to my knowledge.
SEA: currently doing 739ER induction - was done at LAX and mostly MCO
GSO: heavy maint on 763ER fleet
SFO: maint, heavy maint, 772 Hwaiian reconfiguration, was doing WiFi
MCN/MIA: heavy maint, did 752 p.s. reconfig
HOU: 73NG maint, did 735 removals, E+
MCO: various maint, heavy maint, did E+, DTV, 762 fleet removals
PEK: heavy maint, some widebody mods and paint
HKG: heavy maint, 764/763/772 mods and paint,

Any idea if these are getting power to go along with the streaming IFE?

Adding streaming IFE and no power ports on planes they plan on using for 8+ hour flights is pretty stupid. At some point they are going to have to take them out of service again, just to add power.

They will get eventually power ports in a separate process but it is unknown when exactly (3 months? 1 year? 10 years?).

Indeed. This is heavily discussed & criticized in the Hawaiian config thread (sorry I don't know how to make a link)

Yeah, I've been part of the discussion over there too. Just thought I'd try here since it actually has some folks in the know posting information about fleet updates.

Since no schedule or hard information seems to be forthcoming, I doubt there is any kind of plan to do it anytime soon, which for me means in 2014. All the other reconfigs got a lot of press with easy to see tracking information on the Fleet update site. But info on power for the Hawaii 772 seems to be a black hole.

A generic sUA 752 just caught my eye on approach to SFO -- new livery fuselage but no branding and the tail globe was mostly obscured by a coat of blue paint. Looks like it was this SFO-SFO flight, presumably for testing purposes of some sort.

I wonder if new avionics were being tested and if a new paint scheme is in the works? Or, more likely, is this plane about to leave the fleet due to the 757 retirements?

No problem. The last revenue flight for that aircraft was on the 25th.

First GUM 737-700 with E+?

I was booking a flight from NRT-GUM and noticed the 737-700 seat map has economy plus loaded. Sure enough, I was searching some flights operating that specific aircraft today and it shows economy plus. This is ship N24736 (3736). Can the gurus confirm this? Could this be the first 737 based in GU w/economy plus?

The Guam birds have been getting E+ for a month or so now.

73G (4 units): I only show N24736 with E+. N13720 has been in GUM since 1/29, maybe getting E+.

738 (8units): all are in non E+ GUM configuration 14/141. N13227 and N26323 were recently on the mainland for about 2 months each and did not get a configuration change. N14235 has been in IAH since 12/23. Changing the 738s would require reconfiguring them to mainland seating or getting an STC for 8 aircraft. We'll see what happens.
