The Fleet Status site is:

https://sites.google.com/site/unitedfleetsite/

At the site, you can find information about the interior features, livery, etc., for every plane in United's fleet.

To determine which plane your flight will be on go to mobile.united.com and then click on flight status. Put in the flight number for your flight and just have it use today's date (occasionally it'll say flight not operated on this date in which case just choose one of the other 3 dates it lists). In the address bar you'll see something like this:

mobile.united.com/FlightStatus/FlightDetails?carrierCode=UA&flightNumber=415&flig htDate=9%2F15%2F2015&origin=JFK&destination=SFO

https://mobile.united.com/FlightStatus/FlightDetails?carrierCode=UA&flightNumber=415&flig htDate=9%2F15%2F2015&origin=JFK&destination=SFO

Just change the flight date to match the day of your scheduled flight and then change the origin / destination as necessary. Once you do that look in the details tab under aircraft # and if they have assigned a plane it'll say something like #3506 and the type of plane. Once you know that go to the United Fleet website listed above and cross-reference the four digit number against the "aircraft" column under the appropriate aircraft type.

Keep in mind that things change as they get closer and sometimes either they won't have assigned an aircraft yet or it'll be assigned #0 if it's a few days away and they are anticipating aircraft movement.

You may also check the specific fleet variant of each flight at the United Cargo site under "Schedules & tracking". This data tends to be reliable starting 7 days in advance, but is always subject to change.

Hm, only one set of numbers for sCO 752? Are they all Biz1st equipped, which would mean sUA 752s flying to Hawaii. I was under the impression that UA flies both 752 and 753 to Hawaii.

Thanks for the list, but of course if it were me, I'd label Airbii 32? and 31?, not 20? and 19?, but that's me. And 37K? or is that just transposed? Search function did not find 73K on this page, so I'm guessing ....

Yes all of the CO 752s are BusinessFirst equipped. The 75C code for 757-300s is the Original CO aircraft with DirecTV tail numbers 851 - 859, and 75A is the code for the Ex-ATA 757-300 tail numbers 860 - 871 with the overhead IFE.

No clue why the sUA calls some of their 739ERs 37K but they do. (Note these are the slimline seats version). 73B are the sUA 739ERs with the CO style seat patterns.

Some old CO fleet codes:

76H - B767-400ER Micronesia 20J/236Y configuration
75L - B757-300
73N - B737-800 winglets non-mid-cabin lav version.

How about 73G?

Pretty darn sure I saw that one very rare day a GA let me look at the screen when looking to move for a better seat on 737-700. G of course back then, perhaps now still, for Next Generation more fuel efficient than 733 and 735.

Putting aside the internal United designations, 73G is the abbreviation for the 737-700 across all airlines, but for a different reason - G is the 7th letter of the alphabet; it's to prevent confusion from naming the 737-700 a "737" as that designation refers to the classic 737-100.

So, in short:
737-700 = 73G
737-800 = 738
737-900 = 739

Yes, thanks, know that, well except for 7th letter. I read a long time ago that G was for abovementioned Next Generation, but I am referring to CO seat map on a CO computer monitor at the gate. GA, BTW, looked rather puzzled and said he didn't know what 73G meant.

And yes, I was able to move to a better seat

It definitely does^^ that other fleet tracking website has been so out of date (and it seems Bunky didn't have the info).

Time to make some flashcards

What would you do if UA opted for A318 or A321 in the future with your numbering scheme?

Greatly appreciated, but...

United Cargo lists UA663 on March 15 as a 77H (77H not on your list)
The app shows it as Boeing 777-222A | #2513

Your chart indicates tail numbers #25XX as 77A.

United Cargo lists UA300 on March 15 is a 77A.
The app shows it as Boeing 777-222 | #2515 (which matches your chart).

Do you know what the 77H designation means?

77H = 777 Hawaiian/High Density.

73K was the code we used on the CO side for either the reconfigured 737-500 or the 737-300 with video I can't remember which....I'm gonna try and find the old codes when I get home.

According to the UA website, planes that are equipped w/ both WiFi and DirecTV only have WiFi coverage in CONUS. Do they use a different WiFi system than the others?
