Maybe they will lower the rates because they don't count towards PQD?

This, in my opinion, would be the only possible way to keep Elite Maximizer going in it's current state.

Three options:

1) Shut it down

2) Reduce the price of PQM's as they are much less valuable in a PQD ruled world

3) Make Elite Maximizer purchases count towards PQD

My PQM's just went up on two bookings from 12c to 14c, RDM's stayed the same at 2.3c.

Both award travel, one TPAC (partner) one TATL (UA).

Mine has dropped to .10 / PQM. (plus .029 per RDM).

13,000 RDM/PQM

Domestic R/T paid itinerary.

(.026 and .10 for an international award ticket. 9,000 miles.)

PQM at .10 and .14

This is a useful, and interesting comparison - thanks for starting this, RNE!

I have a domestic itinerary in January, where I'm offered RDM at 2.9 cpm and PQM at 10 cpm, for a total of 12.9 cpm. Max offered is 11,000 miles.

TPAC itinerary in February offers RDM at 2.3 cpm and PQM at 14 cpm, for a total of 16.2. Max offered is 45,000 miles.

both itins are paid and on UA metal.

The present Elite Maximizer/Premier Accelerator, for 2014, still makes as much sense as it did in 2013 for:
- International members

- Anyone meeting the credit card spend waiver and looking for Plat or lower status

- Anyone meeting the PQD requirement but not the PQM requirement

The key group it does not make sense for is domestic, low cpm 1Ks (which it appears is heavily overrepresented on FT).

The problem with the purchased PQM program in 2014 may not be quite the issue some seem to believe it is. Since UA has not discontinued it may be they see having value to UA and a sufficient number of customers without making PQD earning.

I'm getting 2.3 cpm for RDM and 8 cpm for PQM (10.3 cpm a/i) for an upcoming TPAC

As usual, I agree with you.

At the very least, I anticipate reduced value / reduced demand, which should lower PQM prices.

But, as always, time will tell.

BOS-PVG in January. V class.

20000 RDM for $460 i.e. 2.3 cents per RDM

20000 PQM for $2060 total, i.e. 10.3 cents per PQM

Seems lower than some people posted?

Today, my PQM price went up from 12¢ across the board to 14¢. RDMs remain a mix of 2.3¢ to 2.9¢.

.08 PQM for 20,000mi

If I'd had this option at the end of last year, I would have jumped on it, instead of spending 3 days on MRs from Thanksgiving to Christmas to make 1K

Yup, mine went up too.

Maybe it's not such a moneymaker for them. They're not trying to make the purchases enticing, especially with no PQDs.

I'm the same rate now for an interline award itinerary.

$1,380.00 for 60,000 RDM ($0.023/mi.)
$4,800.00 for 60,000 PQM ($0.08/mi.)
