Still curious, lol: Has anyone seen any under 18 (minors) GS's?

Sorry for this question being a little bizarre but I wanted to see if anyone has had the same problem.

I received my GS 2014 welcome pack last week and I have carried it around for a few days in a small travel bag. The welcome pack, its documents and luggage tags seem to reek of the most noxious plastic resin or mold smell. I have had to throw the whole thing out including tags and the bag I had it in (and everything in it at the time) exhibits the same noxious smell. I hope this was a USPS issue, and not a source product/mailing issue. Just wondering if anyone had the same issue. I am not hypersensitive to smell it was pretty overwhelming and even the tags I had put on other travel bags had to go. Thanks.

The two packets that arrived at our household both smelled fine. No issues here.

Nope. But, TSA has stopped me before and asked me where my parents were (they thought I was 16ish; I'm really 33)... so I'm guessing some people wonder if I'm an underage GSer...

I was 22 when I first got GS. I expect there are some under 18 GSs as a function of the MM status extension benefit. A coworker of mine has his son (16 I think) as his "spouse" since he flys between his house and his ex-wife's all the time.

I got GS when I was 18 as a million miler companion to someone who had GS. But I'm the youngest person I'm aware of to have had it.

Also, did anyone lose GS this year who had it last year. Last yeR my 1MM companion membership was downgraded from GS to 1K. My sponsoring million miler called the GS desk and asked for reconsideration and a few weeks later both our accounts were updated to GS. I checked today to see if GS was retained and it seems I was downgraded to 1K so presumably my sponsoring million miler was as well though I haven't checked with him. Should he call the GS desk for reconsideration? Or is 2 years some kind of bad trend?

He can always ask or try www.united.com/14gsreview

I don't see a problem if he spent a lot and thinks he was close to GS -- however, only he can determine that.

not sure of his exact 2013 numbers, but he usually flies 25+ overwater segments in J on UA metal annually. he did submit review, and now i've got my fingers crossed :)

Same offer here as well
~50k ticket spend and 200k or so BIS

Just realized I lost the email from MP with the challenge. Don't recall if it had any detail on whether the spend challenge is measured on PQD or something else?
Any thoughts....
Thanks

As a former CO Infinite Elite and a 1.7 million miler, last year was my 1st year for GS. '12 stats were 147,926 on a $37K spend (.25). I traveled less in '13, stats were 87,676 on a $24K spend (.27). Did not get renewal or GS challenge offer.

Purchase and fly at least US$15,000 (base fare and carrier-imposed surcharges) in flights operated by United, United Express® or Copa Airlines*

Ok - Great Many thanks so UAL metal and not just 016 ticket stock - so not PQD based!
Many thanks.

Waiting to board EWR to BRU. GS invited to board. Man at front of Group 1 line is chatting up the woman behind him and says something like, "They're part of a secret club. I'm trying to get in. It can't be based on just dollars because I don't fly a lot if mile but I spend 200k and I'm not in."
