All 752, 76x, 77x, 78x aircraft have lieflat seats, no other UA aircraft does

https://www.unitedcargo.com/ provides route info by aircraft type, such as Widebody Schedule Dec 2018 for regularly scheduled flights.

I flew UA364 EWR-FLL earlier today. sCO 757 with 16J (a/c 3134). Saks blanket and pillow, as well as a Polaris Business Class amenity kit were provided at every seat.

Originally booked first on an A320 MCO-EWR. in September 2017 since it was less then $100 for the upgrade and it would be nice to be treated after 5 days with my nieces and nephews at Disney (treat yoself) Now it looks like the flight is on a 757-200! With 4 months out what are the chances I will be downgraded back to the A320?

Pretty common for EWR<>MCO to see 752 -- so I'd expect that assignment to stick. If it swaps to a different flight that day, you might even be able to use the aircraft change as justification to move to the flight with the 752.

My last three domestic segments 11-12 Oct. 2017, had BF or GF seats:

UA 2396 SFO->BOS (p.s. route) B752 28 BF lie-flats.

UA 363 BOS->IAD s/CO 752 w/16 BF lie-flats.

UA 340 IAD->SFO 772 w/ 8 GF and 40 C/J lie-flats.

BOS-LAX on a 757-200: PS?

Not sure if this is a regular aircraft or a substitution for 11/21. Will the forward cabin get PS amenities?

No.

Look at 11/15: IAD to LAX. 757-200 as well. You can bet there WON'T be PS services. According to the UA website:

"Experience better coast-to-coast service with our updated premium transcontinental routes between New York/Newark and Los Angeles, New York/Newark and San Francisco, and Boston and San Francisco."

UA has added 752 between EWR and SEA for a few months through early next year.

Could UA be testing certain markets with lie flats to see if they can expand the Premium Transcon service?

I'm flying (in coach) on a 777HD DEN-LAX tomorrow. I had the same plane booked for January, but it was changed this week to a 752. It would be nice to be in first on these but the chances of an upgrade for me on this route is nil.

While I'm not qualified enough to answer this, I would ask a similar question: "Does UA even have that many lie-flat aircraft to add another Premium Trancon service after already expanding to BOS?"

Doubtful for many of these cases -- just a case of maximizing equipment utilization and meeting some positioning requirements.

Depends on what other uses you might reduce and how hard you want to push the utilization factor.

Once you make a route p.t.s. it is a commitment to have lie-flat and equipment swaps away from lie-flat become a problem.

So to add another route with 3-4-5 daily frequency using lie-flat would be difficult unless UA reduced frequency on other routes.

That being said, UA has removed the 77Ws from SFO-BOS p.t.s. in December and January (haven't looked into later months so far). So there are some planes w/lie-flats that are not 752s in UA's fleet that could be used. Unlikely as 1-off experiments during the winter but they are available.

Love to have a sticky for this, but it appears this is hit and miss. Love the IAH-ORD and vice versa once a day when able.
