Using United miles to book a Singapore code share?

Is there any way to use United miles to book a flight through Singapore operated by a code share partner? Specifically, I am looking at BOS-LHR route next summer. There are no *A direct flights on that route, but I did notice that Singapore has a code share with Virgin on this route. No availability is showing up on United search engine, but is there any way that calling in would yield anything?

You cannot use United miles on Virgin Atlantic even if it is a Singapore Airlines codeshare flight as VS is not in the Star Alliance. The relationship between VS and SQ is unique to them.

Nope. You can't book any award flight as a codeshare - award flights can only be booked as the operating airline/flight number. I'm pretty sure this is industry standard.

I figured that was the case, but I wanted to confirm. Thanks for the reply!
