What did you forget on the plane and did you get it back again?

So for the first time ever I forgot something on the plane.
Being so happy sitting in 7K on the 777 from LAX-IAD I left my sweater which was stuffed beside the seat. Didn't notice it until I stood in the queue on my to FRA. Just stood there and thought to myself.....ah stuff it. Even if it was one of my favourites, nevermind.....hope the Salvation Army gets it

What have you guys left behind......and has UA gone above and beyond to get it back to you?

My iPad. On an RJ 145. I got it back from United after about a month, but then promptly left it in a Wal-Mart shopping cart a week and a half later. It was meant to be - I like the iPad Mini much better.

Hmmm, iPad mini, smaller so even easier to leave somewhere.

Yeah. But it fits better in my laptop case, so I'm not tempted to carry it separately (and I'm now ever-vigilant about checking the seat back pocket; once burnt…).

NRT. My co-worker is flying in-bound from SFO, leaves a large bag of duty free items above his C seat.

Meanwhile, I am in the GFL outbound back to SFO. He calls me. I ask the GFL staff to go find the bag (he had landed 30 minutes prior but had already exited immigration/customs). They found his bag, brought it to me and then together we posted it to his hotel in central TYO for same day delivery from the GFL via some third party courier service they setup.

Way to go UA (in Japan at least!)

I've left my old iPad 1 in UA seat pockets twice. Both times, I got it back the next day.

I left an iPod Classic 120GB on a Swiss flight. Never saw it again The replacement was stolen out of my car a few weeks later.

Now I have an iPad Air and I make sure it's with me BEFORE I get off the plane. Stupid brain, be less scattered...

Bose QC3, left in seat pocket of a plane we boarded and then deplaned. A heavy wheelchair broke the cargo door seal while they were loading it. I realized they were missing while on the plane they switched us to, before takeoff. Called United, they couldn't reach anyone at the other gate to look for it. Filled out a missing item report when I landed, but never got anything back. Annoying, since that plane was definitely moved and repaired before any other passengers got on it.

Replaced them with AudioTechnica ATH-ANC3s and have been very happy with them, especially the much smaller size (and price) compared to the QC3s.

Let's see I have left on a plane...

3 Bose headsets
My car keys
Duty free bags
A very nice leather jacket
1 laptop with everything on it (got this one back thankfully)
And to top it off my passport
Twice

I left my iPad mini on SQ arriving into Houston. One of the ground staff found me in baggage claim and gave it to me... that was pretty nice. ^

On a slightly different note, I left a Folsom 2013 poster in my seat on SFO-EWR a few weeks ago. Went back to the gate and the agent asked me to describe the poster... "uh, well... uh" One of the cabin attendants ended up finding it.

^ I almost hate to admit it but I have now left behind two Bose QC's in the seat pocket. The second time I did it I thought I was going to be sick.
Never to be seen again in either case.....

A small clutch bag with all of my in-flight goodies (cables, headphones, ear plugs, pen, MP3 player, etc.). Did not get it back, despite it having my business card taped to the inside. Talked to a gate agent about 20 minutes later, once I realized I had forgotten it, who called the cleaning staff and confirmed that they had it. Filed a claim. Never got it back. Grrr.

Left my iPad on an early morning flight to LGA. Fortunately stopped by the united club on my way out and was able to get back through security, where the GA had it at the counter.
