Booked two business class tickets to Madrid for a total of $113.80. Have zero expectation that this would be honored.

What price are you being charged in your credit card account? I am not courageous enough to pay my $320K ticket.

It will price out and can be purchased but how do you get around the receipt saying reward? If you have the miles there is a chance you are redeeming the miles even if it says $320k. If you don't have the miles then somebody may ask for them and cancel if you say I don't want to redeem them.

Two charges: $113.80 and $1.00.

The email receipt from united shows also 500,000 miles (which I'm not even close to having). No miles are actually deducted yet.

Ok. Let me try this again. I don't have $320K or 320K miles. So UA can kill me and they still won't have either the money or miles.

seems similar to 4 mile deal to HKG or whatever it was about a year ago. if i go, i go in 10 hours to make sure i get it. but once i fly it, worried they'll claw back either miles or cash if no miles.

Try logging out and logging back in if it etickets.

This "session" display bug actually has been around for awhile. It's annoying and happens if you are playing with award and paid bookings at the same time. Even though the receipt may say $320,000 -- it means miles and will usually do the correct thing in the backend.

Probably a ticket stuck in the queue until an agent calls and asks for additional miles.

Let's see if it etickets first.

It forced the computer to book the award flight $80 + 40,000mi.
Even where I do not have 40K in my account.
