NRT-HKG service discontinued after 26 Oct 2013.

Aircraft being removed from NRT-HKG in 8 weeks!

[Moderator note: this and the next several posts were moved from an existing thread on UA's new service on a domestic route. As part of setting up this new thread, minor style edits were made to a few posts. Ocn Vw 1K.]

[Edits to conform to start of new thread.]

...?!?! When did this happen? My in-laws are on it in Jan - when exactly is that segment going to drop?

Gee, a 737-800 NRT-HKG... and they can't fill it? Wonder why? Took the flight once, what a second rate joke...

[Minor edits by Moderator to set up new thread.] Yep...HKG-NRT is gone (I only saw it here for the first time earlier tonight). Just checked my itinerary for early next year, and that segment is dropped off...I was not reaccommodated.

Not entirely a bad thing, I was confirmed up front the whole way, and should expect the same cabin on what will probably be HKG-ORD n/s now. Just not sure why I wasn't put on that to begin with.

A huge to this change. I liked transiting via NRT.

So, the question is, where does the NRT slot go?

Curious. Just going to leave all the onward NRT-HKG traffic for NH, I suppose.

Damn! I always take that UA NRT/HKG route.
So UA intra-asia services are NRT-ICN/SIN/BKK remain?
Next what? NRT/ICN?

A bit shocked to learn this. IMHO Y class in UA is better than Y of CX for this route..

Shame! Though an inferior service on UA, I'm counting every last mile toward 2MM!

Full of what though?

I am sure the HKG-SIN similarly failed 737 experiment was full too...
