United website showing incorrect Travel Time - time zone/time change issues
This is strange:
Both EWR and PLS are in the Eastern Time Zone, and both observe daylight savings time on the same dates.
Actual travel time should be 3:48 outbound and 3:53 inbound.
Is this a new problem?

This is actually correct.
UAL is letting you know that you will get there 75% quicker as the plane flies MUCH faster on the outbound.

Time Zones/Flight Times Don't Match
Just happened to notice this oddity on a flight I booked yesterday. I didn't notice then because the departure and arrival times are normal. However, the flight length displayed on UA.com is not normal:
ORD-SEA = 3 hours 36 min
Departure 12:00 pm, Arrival 2:36 pm
Over two time zones, that's a 4:36 flight.
SEA-ORD = 5 hours 2 min (should be shorter eastbound!)
Departure 2:05 pm, Arrival 8:07 pm
That's actually a 4:02 flight.
Not that any of it really matters, but I wondered if others are seeing this, indicating a time zone issue in the system, or if its just my one weird flight?

I guess its been a problem but in ~90 segments a year for the past 5 years, this is the first time I've seen it, other than on a weekend morning when they're reloading flights or changing timetables, etc. and then it goes away.

Time Zone Arithmetic: United's New Math
Mods: feel free to move this to the "least substantive" aka. trivia thread
We have a flight next week that involves a leg SEA-ORD. According to the View Itinerary sheet, Depart SEA 6:03 AM, Arrive ORD 11:58 AM Travel Time 4hr 55m. Huh? Last time I looked, SEA is PST, ORD is CST. Allowing for the 2 hr time difference, this translates to 3hr 55m (which is about usual for this flight). Or does this allow an extra hr for taxiing, penalty box, no one to drive the jet way, DST time change, etc?

UA.com displaying wrong flight durations again
Anyone else notice issues with UA.com showing the wrong flight durations in itineraries? I've got four itineraries booked at the moment through mid March and all of them have a connection in SFO (please help me!). Not sure when this started creeping back into the system.
All of my SFO-SEA legs say the flight duration is 1hr08mins (instead of 2hr08mins as it should show). And the SEA-SFO legs say the flight duration is 3hrs13mins (instead of the 2hrs13mins as it should show).
This problem only appears in booked itineraries. The search results page when booking flights shows the correct flight time.
I wonder if anyone else has seen this with other city pairs?
