UA IT/SHARES Nightmare (Literally)
Folks,
As ridiculous as this sounds, I've been having an increasing number of unpleasant anxiety dreams where the source of the unpleasantness and anxiety has been UNITED's horrible systems.
For instance, early this morning I dreamt that I missed a flight out of LGA by just moments because my boarding pass was printed with a gate number that didn't exist. Since the door had just closed, my ticket was automatically canceled. Customer service could not do anything to reinstate it to get me on the next flight, and refused even to call the help desk. My dream phone call to reservations for help was useless because the offshore agent I talked to did not understand my problem and could do nothing. I had to dream schlep to Newark to catch the last flight out after having to dream buy two full fare tickets to get back to Chicago. I think may have missed that flight too, but at least the tickets were refundable.
Perhaps this just means that I've been spending too much time on planes, or too much time on FlyerTalk, or nor enough time on a shrink's couch. But it's probably not a good sign when problems with a company's lousy IT have migrated from waking life to infect one's subconscious.
Is there any hope for UNITED? For me? Dr. Freud would probably tell me it's time to switch carriers. I don't think I can take much more of this!!

OK, we have just entered bizzaro world here.
I was about to give you a hard time for using the term "literally" incorrectly as people often do. But no, you really are dreaming about how bad UA has become. Sad on way too many levels.
