Travel goes sideways due to poor check-in errors - worth a letter?

Plane swap. Downgauged. Booted and booked on later flight that eventually cancelled.

I wasn't upset at the changes per se. Just the way UA handled it. I knew 6 hours prior to flight time about the downgauge (flightaware). Gate agent said she had just found out and was scrambling trying to figure it all out. It was just a mess that should've been totally avoided.

The typical "don't worry that was intentional" story in this case is that the swap wasn't certain yet (or a second swap that would negate the impact was possible).
