Thank you.

I disagree with this decision - mainly because of the smiles on the faces of the FAs I told when I nominated them. Why take away that kind of recognition?

Really? Didn't this forum recently post a thread with better IRROPs announcements (and subsequent experiences) for Elites recently? The snark about his pay/bonus are more and more meaningless when you post them in threads having no link whatsoever to them.

Thank you. ^

Out perform was ridiculous. That GA that was super helpful... I didn't have time pester her for her blood type, guess she doesn't get the recognition she deserves!

Just send an email (or a fax to Elite Customer Relations) asking specifically that it be shared with the employee's supervisor/station chief. If you have time, and if the FA/CSR/gate agent is willing, get his/her email and copy it to him/her.

Much more effective, ime.

Well-put.

It sure doesn't, sans the top tier of personalities. This type of program breeds mediocrity.

Not so sure Aon/Hewitt would make this recommendation, but when you know everything and have a specific outcome in mind, I guess no need in hiring some experts on the subject.

This.

Had that experience the one and only time I tried to use it.

I still hand out GTEMs.

Ditto. Still rocking those on flights with PMUA crew as a tangible way of acknowledging that they went above and beyond. Tried it a couple times with PMCO crews and they liked them, but were always confused as to what they were.

Thanks, as always Aaron, for the information.

I typically simply send my comments about an employee to my contact at UA and ask that they be forwarded to the appropriate station manager, chief pilot, etc.

Same here

Cost cutting. Remember, JS said they are going to run UA like a business not an airline, so not like a consumer focused activity but a $$$$$$$ generating activity and who needs to recognize people if they just keep on making you $ after $ after $??? Takes time away from making $$$$$$!

Don't like the idea of the new program. You get great service from 1 FA/GA/TA.CSR and the grumpy/snarky/irritable one gets a bonus for it. Not good. I know you are just the messenger UA Insider so none of these comments are directed at you. Just wish you could actually messenger some good news for a change (pun intended).

QR code

The solution could have been so simple. Add a QR code to employee ID's that can be scanned by a passenger's smart phone. With out revealing too much personal data you could have a quick and easy way to recognize someone.

I realize not everyone has a smart phone, but I'm willing to bet that more than 90% of elites have one, making this solution very effective.

And outperform was built into the UA app. Of course this would require UA to actually consult about changes rather than simply announcing them.

Exactly. A quick scan, add a couple of nice comments, "service from xxx was outstanding, etc.", done.

Wow, UA really doesn't care about employee performance anymore.

UA doesn't seem to care about much anymore except making sure that we use a co-branded Credit Card.

Another small step toward becoming just a financial services company.
