So it *is* possible after all! (*A awards in C)

With a little bit of persistence and luck I managed to book SFO-SEA-NRT-SIN-ICN-SFO for early 2014 – all in C-class on UA, NH (787), SQ (773) and OZ (77W) for 2 pax! No problem finding space on the dates and flights I wanted. Ticketed in less than an hour by GS.

I am now heading out to buy a lottery ticket

*A probably has the most premium cabin award space across the Pacific. And if by 'early' 2014 you mean Jan or Feb, well sure, that's a low season -- I actually confirmed 4 SWUs *at booking* for ORD-HKG last January. Now if you were booking now for this August, that'd be another matter.....

Sure, we're happy for you. But this shouldn't be surprising. You'll have a great trip.

With EVA's joining the Alliance, it is now even easier.

Even TATL is doable in summer with UA/US/LH/LO all releasing space, with a spattering of space by SN/LX/SK/TP/TK. Flexibility is required!

SEA/NRT in NH/OZ C or Y is one of the easiest redemptions in the system. UA F is pretty darn easy too.

I would have been surprised if you had NOT succeeded!

All things considered (Glastonbury, Wimbledon), I was able to get NYC-LON rather easily.

Try finding LX F awards from the West Coast USA... THEN buy your lottery ticket if you do.

I'm pretty certain I booked a SN (Brussels Airlines) award online about a year ago. (Later changed it to something else, though.)

I have seen SN offered, too, IAD-BRU.

We recently booked two DEN-LAX-NRT (UA 787)-BKK (TG A380)-PVG (stopover)-ICN-LAX (OZ 777 Smartium)-DEN in C. All booked online and a good value for 100K miles each.
