0. I have a few 1k friends
1. Award availability on sectors I travel most personally.
2. *A mileage earning options.
3. Some accountability as an airline.

for a lot of the reasons mentioned (including flying from my small airport) and a couple that have not been mentioned:

a. because, in addition to E+ and legroom, their E seats on average are wider than any mainline airline out there, so they offer more personal space
b. (and I think that a lot of us fall into this category) brand loyalty. I have been a Continental top tier elite for ever and I do not foresee changing, even though a lot of things that I used to like about Continental changed after the merger.

4. Easy to book awards on website
5. UGs on reasonably priced international fares
6. High % of domestic UGs (YMMV)
7. Great 1K phone agents almost always
8. Friendly (most of the time) service.

If enough people respond, I'll try to compile the results. (You might want to add your status if it's not on your profile.)
1 is good enough for me

Flying out of SBA, they're simply the cheapest 95% of the time (at least to my destinations), so it makes sense for me to spend a little more the few times they're not for status/miles.

Usually if UA is not cheapest, it's US... so I will occasionally fly US and credit to UA. It'll be interesting to see how things change when the US/AA merger gets finalized. I expect it'll just be higher prices across the board for SBA.

Flying out of BOS to the places I do biz in is cheaper than AA or DL. Pretty much that simple. Only expensive places I have to go are MCI and SLC but they are $$$$ on all airlines for the most part.

-Miles and instruments (SWU + RPU) that are worth something. That's directed at you Delta Skypesos, which continues to redefine "worthless". So far 100% on SWU+RPU redemption, but as others have said, flexibility needed.

And a new reason
- EWR-LAX "shuttle" . 15 flights daily!

I fly UA because:
I have a lot of UA miles from credit card promotion, and I try everything I can to redeem miles on other *A flights. If all fail, I will reluctantly fly UA.

Yeah its definitely not the most comfortable thing in the world, but I can suck it up and deal with it. It's one of those things you learn to deal with early on and realize that there's nothing you can do about it LOL. Plus agents and attendants tend to be pretty nice to me as they know its not my fault I'm a bit taller than the average person.

That being said some of the looks I've gotten walking on a regional jet have been hilarious

Walking? My limbo is out of practice so I have to crab walk or crawl. You must be a lot younger than me.

I'm in Houston, flying to the coasts, small cities, and internationally. With anyone else I'd have to split my travel up and take a lot of connections.
