Why are UA clubs at EWR (Major hub) so very poor compared to AA clubs at major hubs within the USA? The white chairs are in tatters, the beverage offering (complimentary) are extremely limited comparatively and the overall fit and finish of things as well as ambiance (subjective) is much poorer and seems like a large waiting room.
How can UA allow the furniture alone to be in such woeful shape? I was no fan of AA's lounges but the differences within the USA appear night and day.
Also, any plans for an First lounge at EWR? I am surprised one remains at JFK but not at UA arguably premier hub!
As a further aside flew out on BA from EWR for the first time in ages, the difference between their new lounge and UA at EWR is too great for my words this evening...

I tend to agree. I think EWR should have more than two lounges in the C terminal for a hub that big.
Even with the soft product in the lounges, I would say DL leads the US industry.

Totally agree. The EWR clubs are dated, get too crowded, and the food selection is beyond pathetic. I think the clubs need a major soft-product makeover. Many also need to be renovated, but it's easier to start with th soft-product!

Be careful what you wish for
I am not sure I would complain too much. I belong to both the United Club and SkyClub. And right now, United Club is beating SkyClub hands down.
Food is similar, but DL just changed the free booze and beer selection, dramatically downgrading the quality.

I am talking about even basic things like tattered and torn seating, scratched and chipped tables, needing fresh coat of paint on dirty walls, broken handles in bathrooms. Im not sure how much lower you can go than the complimentary offerings at UA clubs, AA offers a much better selection of house drinks and coupons for premium beverages as well.
