Multiple awards needed for this ITN?
 

I'm a OW/AA guy and not all that familiar with Star Alliance and would appreciate any help.

I have 186,000 UA miles (160,000 AS if that helps) and would like to route (in business):

SEA-XXX-NBO stop NBO-XXX-MNL (a stopover in ADD would be good) stop MNL-XXX-Southern Europe.

Will this require 3 awards? NA-SAfrica (60k); SAfrica-Asia (60k); Asia-Europe (62.5k)

I'm pretty sure that stopovers are only permitted on RT award tickets, so you will be charged for each segment that you include a stopover(3 awards in this case, not including a stop in ADD).

I did a bit of playing around, but can't find any clever ability to change this into a roundtrip as it involves 4 regions.

One suggestion, maybe turn this into an Economy Round-the-World award for 180K miles. It's a tiny bit cheaper and probably offers you more flexibility for stopovers and the ability to eventually get back to SEA if that's your goal. I can't give you much info on the rules of this though.
