I was hoping to head to a beach from NYC on Memorial Day weekend, but would rather avoid schlepping across to EWR. :(

LGA has a 1500mi perimeter rule in effect Sunday-Friday, so the only day any airline can operate revenue LGA-AUA service is on Saturday. UA operates the flight seasonally during peak vacation periods.

To answer your question, it is not possible to use the UA LGA-AUA service as a weekend trip.

Thanks, looks like it's JFK on Copa or EWR then :(

Forgive my ignorance but does that mean that they're not allowed to fly routes longer than 1500 miles? If so, how do they get away with DEN which is 1610?

LGA-DEN is grandfathered in.
