Flight delayed for 45 mins! What should i do?

Hello FT,

I need some advice, UA just announced that my flight which was suppose to board at 6:30pm est has been delayed for 7:20pm est now.

What should i do and what are my options?

Currently at the United Lounge and hoping you fellow FT'ers can keep me company and give me advice!

Thank you

I'd make another cheese-and-cracker sandwich

LOL, is this for real!?! If this is the worst thing that happend to you, consider yourself very lucky.

Just keep on eye on the departure thou. I had CO in the past say the flight was delayed x number of minutes but then they boarded early and left before that time. When it's only 45 mins I would go to the gate. There would have been many times I would have missed a flight if I sat in the P Club because they said it was 30 to 45 mins later and it started boarding 10 mins later and was gone by 45 minutes later.

you should most certainly go to the CS desk in the club, slam your elite card down on the desk, tell them how much you are being inconvenienced, and demand a $250 e-cert

What's the reason for the delay? 45 minutes definitely is pretty minor, but its always worth looking at other flight options just in case it stretches out.

I am going to call CS and complain that your flight is ONLY delayed 45 mins. Why should your flight be delayed less than the rest of us!!!!

I would suggest using the time to post pointless questions on the Internet.

Ohh.. wait.. you already did that!

In that case, I'd go with the cheese-and-cracker sandwich suggestion above.
