Beer to the rescue
I am sure others have noticed this, but on the little turboprop UA Express flys, the EMB-120, I always laugh when I see that the defibrillator is stowed in the same galley compartment as the beer. I'm sure a defibrillator is very useful sometimes, but undoubtedly beer is used to fix a broken heart more often!

When I saw the topic my heart leapt, mouth watered and mood lightened: I thought UA was finally going to serve decent beer.

Is it really, though? I mean, let us accept that both Budweiser and Tiger taste like ..... But "Tiger" sounds exotic and cool and comes with a picture of a tiger on it. It makes you an adventurous expat, drinking ...... local beer in the tropics, probably wearing a Panama hat, maybe even a white suit. Drinking Budweiser makes you a fat blue-collar slob yelling at the television. |
I'm not a big fan of beer in cans (probably just psychological), but as a result I've never had a beer in the air in over 3MM of flying.

And why can't they serve bottled beer. They served bottled wine in individual bottles in Y. No different than beer. |

There are some good beers in cans but they are few. Fat Tire (New Belgium) and Dale's Pale Ale (Oskar Blues) spring to mind. Of course UA does not have them.

It is apparent that you've never had a Tiger brewed and canned in Vietnam... The ones made in Singapore are acceptable, just need to get over the formaldehyde smell. The ones from Vietnam are watered down beyond belief.
