How to book a premium economy award on TK?

Hi everyone,

EF shows that TK offers awards in premium economy under code Z. This is different from economy awards offered under code X. There is usually better availability in Z than X.

Does anyone know how to book an award in Premium Economy on TK using MP miles? How many miles would be needed for a RT to Europe?

Thanks.

Can't be done.
You can only book economy or business class on Turkish when using UA miles.

Thank you and sorry to hear that. That's too bad because it was a great deal at 60K miles round trip (assuming miles available in TK's own FF program, of which I have none).

Suggestion for UA --

Please fix this!

Thanks!

not likely to happen, there is no consistent alliance wide definition for Premium Economy.
Also given UA has run out of fare booking codes (http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/unite...-1-2013-a.html) UA's not likely to burn one for this.

It's not broken, and it is not a UA deal. It is a TK deal to open those awards to *A partners. UA can "fix" UA awards only.

Thank you all; I understand better now. Prem economy is a weird class. Each airline views it differently.

Using MP miles for Turkish Seats

Howdy Guys, I am UA 1K (Star Gold) and will be flying Turkish for the first time... I am trying to conserve miles, so I am considering booking a coach fare... for IAH-IST the saver one way in coach is 30K miles, but my question is, will this be the "comfort class" on TK, or is that considered Business by United?

It won't be in Comfort class, it will be in regular Economy. Business is considered Business by United, there is no way of redeeming UA miles for Comfort class.

There may be an offer to purchase an upgrade to Comfort and/or Business class on the date of departure.

Comfort Class is not open to UA mileage redemption, I believe, as it sits between Economy and C.

No - there is no *A-wide option for redeeming miles for premium economy seats. Generally it is only the airline itself that lets you use their miles for these seats. Best option is a buy-up at checkin.
