glitch on site ...need help please

So I am looking to book flights to hawaii and I do a one way search for each segment to find saver awards
roc to sfo for Jan 3rd and shows availability in economy but when I do the
multiple destination open jaw search of roc to sfo jan 3rd
then Jan 6 sfo to koa and finally Jan 17 hnl to roc

the roc to sfo flight doesn't show up for Jan 3rd?

I read on a newsletter that this often happens so if I call will I get charged or is there a way to save this flight and then add it to the rest of the itinerary

thanks for your thoughts.

what are the stopover rules for awards within the USA? That may be your hangup.

No .. it works fine with a different date.. I wanted the January 3rd flight that shows up when I do a one way search

WELL I called tech support and they tell me that this is not available and doesn't show up on their screen.
That is very bizarre since I can see it.. can you?

one way award roc to sfo Jan 3 for 12,500 saver economy -then the flight totally disappears when trying to book multiple cities

Married award segment logic. Look it up here - that explains it.

Note also it codes as a direct flight when buying the ticket, and as separate flight numbers with miles.

 married segment logic w/ a 3-day stopover?

looks to me like the stopver is the issue.

Sounds like a known bug. Try this sometime:

Price AAA-BBB ( stopover) + BBB-CCC-BBB (round trip) as a multicity award trip on united.com- - AAA-BBB + BBB-CCC + CCC-BBB

Now price BBB-CCC-BBB (round trip) as a round-trip award on united.com --- BBB to CCC -- same dates.

Very often you'll see a much different set of flights on the BBB-CCC segment; in my experience the selection has been much more limited when priced multicity vs. when priced round-trip. I see this a lot on legal international trips; it's a bit weird to see it on domestic trips.
