Ha, well I guess I won't have to worry about that, then! As it happens, I'm on the verge of securing a contract with a firm in London, so that could mean a December trip to the UK, easily putting me over the top for Plat. This also means I could shift the rest of my domestic travel to AA to try to get 4500 miles for Gold through Feb 2015, and to also make use of those 10 500-mile certs they gave me!

I passed 1K on 11/2 (earliest ever for me). I did buy ~10k PQM back in October in case my late November and early December trips don't happen (due to work). Right now, it seems I didn't need to buy those miles, but c'est la vie. With the added B-fare trip I hadn't planned for 11/2, I will probably end with ~115k PQM.

Passed 125,000 on UA914 Nov8. Unusually high year for me due to a couple of trips to BOM. I've decided to give up travel to Asia in 2014 due to my company's travel policy and prohibition on booking business class. Tired of playing upgrade roulette for a 12 - 14h flight. The fight over booking J on a last minute and tightly scheduled trip to BOM was the final straw. I was grudgingly granted J on the way there and took an M fare through FRA on the return. Burned a GPU on LH but it was worth it. I will definitely miss the food in Korea!
One more trip to Vienna and the UK next month.

First-time plat status
I crossed the 75K mark about an hour into Thursday's IAH-DCA flight--on which, fittingly enough, my upgrade was nowhere near clearing. This is the first time I've reached that point on any airline's FF program, just as last year was the first time I clocked 50K.
I don't expect my CPU percentage to get immensely better, but I will enjoy not having to pay for Mini DCA writer's E+ seat anymore on family trips, I'm sure I can find a good use for the two RPUs (do they trump mileage upgrades or not?), and I've already put in for the Global Entry credit.
