I'm getting PQM offers at the $0.084/PQM level.

I never understood why they kept it high early in the year last year, either. it makes better sense to have it lower to entice you to buy when you are least accurate at predicting what your year's EQM total is going to be. I am seeing the same rate as everyone above (8.5 cpm/10.6 AI). This is at or near the lowest I saw in 2012, so now the question is, when will they go up?

Is everyone seeing these rates at check-in? I'm still seeing 3.3c for RDM online for a reservation next month.

Yeah does it make a difference when you purchased the ticket?
I purchased mine a couple of months ago.
Maybe I should book another to see if the rates drop?

I was seeing rates of ~ $.30 per PQM on Accelerator a few days ago, and now that we're in 2013 and miles have reset, it's half that.
I've got a flight to Sydney that it's offering me 45,000 PQMs for for $6,750. No thanks.
I will need between 20-30k additional EQMs (from planned BIS) to re-up 1K this year, most likely, but am hoping to pay no more than $.08 or so via the Accelerator.
Anyone have an opinion as to whether that option at that price may happen - and if so - when in the year it's most likely?

Call me a spring chicken and a lowly gold, but what in the hell about 1K is worth nearly $7000 out of pocket? I would only see that as being cost effective if United changed the requirements of 1K to 200k miles, and I had to fly 150k miles this year, and nobody under 1k could receive upgrades.

I have two upcoming reservations and the offers are different. And they keep changing.
Yesterday one reservation was stuck at $.15/PQM while the other was at $.085/PQM.
Today they are both at $.085/PQM but the RDM offers differ. One offers $.033/RDM and the other $.029/RDM.
So my best offer is $.114 combined for either 10,000 or 15,000 miles.
Very tempting. And yet I don't really want to spend a lot of money right now for nothing but future status. It really seems silly when you think about it. And yet...

Do these PQMs count for RPUs and GPUs or whatever the TLAs are?

I am also seeing $.085/PQM and $.033/RDM. This is for a ticket booked mid Dec 2012 and to be flown mid Jan 2013. In Dec 2102 the offer varied between $.25 and $.30/PQM for 6K miles.

The lowest RDM I am seeing (.021) is on an international partner award itinerary.
All of my itineraries are offering .085 / PQM right now.
Exactly like a BIS PQM.

Just pulled the trigger on 45,000 for $4770 ai. So that's .106 total per rdm/pqm...less than I paid last year. Paid with my legacy UA card, which gives me 1 PQM and 3 RDM per dollar...so the total is 59,000 rdms and almost 50,000 PQMs for the money. Much better than 9 more EWR-LAX trips at $500 each!
My assumption is that the more I actually fly BIS, the pricier these miles will become. As a 1K, they were way more expensive for me than for my neighbor Premier member last year.
So now I just need to fly an easy 50K or so, and I'm done into 2015. Especially good since I'm planning another RTW in 2014!

A travel-savy colleague of mine has decided to start burning through his bazillion MP RDMs and not spend a cent with UA this year (he is 1K for the year). Next January he'll "buy status" through the Accelerator and have it for the next two years.

So, he earned 100K + PQM's in 2012 to have 1K status in 2013.
2013 he'll fly with 1K status, but will only burn miles on all his tickets. (How will he use his GPU's and RPU's? Will he mix in a little paid travel?)
He does not care how many PQM's he earns in 2013 (his current 1K status will last through 1/2014).
January of 2014 he will spend $10,000 (give or take) on 100,000 PQM's, and immediately achieve 1K for the rest of 2014 and 2015...
Not sure if this would work for me, but I appreciate the creativity in his approach.
