Cleared the day before my May 6 (Monday) SFO->LHR. Was pleased, as business was very full, and I had expected to be in coach.
I'm about 19/20 over the past year! (I usually travel mid-week, so this helps a lot)

May 10 SIN-NRT-SEA, W fare, booked mar. 2, 2013. NRT-SEA cleared immediately. Sin-NRT cleared half an hours ago after I received alert from EF. Call 1k desk and agent told me there is only one seat available. EF made my day!
Some data points: one week before departure, there are 5-7 business class left on united seat map. United also sent me mail this morning that they cannot upgrade me and I am on the waiting lists.

I'm not sure what happened on the EWR-IST flight. I suspect it could have been elite heavy and I also believe I never made it on to the waitlist. I couldn't check-in online because I had a continuing flight in IST to a country that requires visas for U.S. citizens. Even when I checked in at the airport, I never showed up on the waitlist. Oh well.

FRA-IAD in mid-September (W fare) cleared a couple of days ago; booked back in late February. Still waiting on IAD-MUC and for my wife's saver C on the same flights to open up.

Booked my mother and husband LAS-SFO-FRA-VIE on May 23, FCO-IAD-LAS June 8, W class, booked March 18. Applied 4 GPUS. LAS-SFO and IAD-LAS cleared immediately (nice freebies if the TA legs didn't clear). FCO-IAD cleared for both on April 18. Both still wait-listed for SFO-FRA.
