Dont know, and I don't mind someone else getting it. If I didn't pull the trigger, but I did and while giving the credit card info it sold. Thats a lot like someone pulling their card out faster at a store and buying something you have at the counter. Oh well, I'll make my money back with my chase miles and a first class ticket on United's tab. And as the previous poster said, I can save some dough! |

If I were the op, I would be really annoyed. First by the doubling of price, then by the Liss of seat because UA wasn't able to do the transaction quickly.

Had the same thing happen to me - upgrading friends with 2012 expiring GPUs, when the Premier Desk/1K Desk agent had trouble applying them. She saw the inventory, but needed the "help desk" to assist with pulling the GPUs and applying them. It took 45 minutes. By then, 1 of the two segments on the itinerary had dropped from R2 to R1 and they could only upgrade the shorter segment for both travelers. You'd think a Service Director could have maybe gotten another R seat opened up for me, but no - it was too bad for my friends and I because their systems couldn't process the request fast enough.
So all you people cheering for the fact a CPU might have gone through - this same thing can happen to you, too, when you want to use instruments, and won't you be loud in the forum with your gripes then! |

He, again "held" the seats, and while buying them, a premier was upgraded and only one seat was available. Nothing they could do. Really a bummer on the service end. No idea. Like I said, the call center was in India, so perhaps it was something made up to blow me off haha. Yes, the annoyance was not that a premier got it (lucky them!) However, that mid transaction it was gone. Glad to see I wasnt the only one... I guess

FYI...DLs EC product only includes free booze on international flights. So had you booked them, they would have given you as much free booze as UA.
