Couldn't book award ticket from the app. It shows availability and I got all the way to the "Agree and purchase" screen. Says "there was an issue purchasing your ticket". I called the 1K line and the agent said there's a systemwide outage going on right now, and even he can't book my ticket. Kind of inconvenient since the flight I'm planning to take departs in less than four hours. Anyone else experiencing this issue?

It may not be linked to this issue, but the agent said there's 64,000 (!) people on the website right now, and he hasn't seen an outage like this before.

App booking still not working, but I called the 1K line again and agent got me on the flight! Too late to catch the one I originally planned for so I selected the next one which departs an hour later.

I attempted to make a purchase and my UA Pres Plus MC was rejected "United Payment forms cannot be used for this purchase"??????
SO I put it on another card, forfeiting thousands of miles in credit.
Then called to put it on the correct cc, which took a LONG time but finally was told it was successful.

Reservation is listed under Manage Reservations. But when I click on it, I get told the names of the pax and the opportunity to edit!
Whoopee!
What I need is the ability to cancel within 24 hrs if I get a better fare.

What to do? Is the site down, or did the agent do something that made it impossible to see/do the usual with this reservation?

Also attempting to do same on mobile app, but error message says to update and that seems to be taking forever. Have they just screwed everything up today?

First thing this AM, site did not open at all.
When it returned, same result as yesterday, using Chrome.
Same result using Safari.

Seems we have returned to .bomb of old?

Reservations completely unavailable online/in-app

Reservations showing on page but trying to access them generates a name/record locator mismatch. Come on guys...

I have had the same experience, but I investigated and saw that one of the flights on my itinerary (IAD - FRA) no longer exists. I am guessing my booking is no longer possible. Will be interesting to see what happens,

I'm having the same issue. I can see the reservation on the summary page but can't access it. Perhaps they are loading the changes now instead of later tonight.

I just got off the phone with my corporate travel agent, who used her special phone number that connects straight to United to try to diagnose why I couldn't see my reservation. The United agent said their entire computer system is down, and he can't look anything up right now.
