Split Award Reservation
Several weeks ago I booked two r/t award tickets (IAD-FCO in "Y"; FCO-IAD in "I"). This evening I split the record online so I could change the return date for one of the two passengers. The system retained the original record locator for one passenger and established a new locator for the other.
The problem: When attempting to change the return date for one of the tickets, the system wants to refund one half of the total amount charged for two tickets. The system is offering to refund 80k miles (which is the total cost of one ticket). As much as I'd love to get 80k miles back, I don't want UA to cancel both tickets all together. Anyone have any experience with this issue? thanks!!! |
