EK flight booked as SA codeshare
Folks,
I have an upcoming flight from DXB to JNB booked as a SA codeshare (EK metal) "Z" fare. Am I correct in assuming that since the flight is operated by EK I will accrue nothing? Other than signing up for SA voyager or EK Skywards is there any way to accrue miles for that flight? I assume EK now does not partner with any of the big three US carriers? Thanks! |
Earnings are based on operating carrier, not marketing carrier. So, no its not a SA flight for FF earnings -- it is an EK flight.
EK and AA are in preliminary codeshare talks, but they aren't finalized and it isn't known if there will be a FF partnership as well. None of the large US carriers -- AA, DL, UA, US, or WN -- have FF partnerships with EK. However, you could earn miles on B6 or AS https://trueblue.jetblue.com/web/trueblue/emirates http://www.alaskaair.com/content/mil.../emirates.aspx |
SA does not fly to DXB. All the flights between DXB-JNB/CPT/DUR are operated by EK & have an SA code. The bad news: no, you won't get any credit to your MP account. The good news: your flying EK (to bad they discontinued the 380 on this route)
Sign up for a Skywards account. It's free so what's the harm. If you ever fly EK again you'll get credit plus they are partners w JL/KE/AS & QF If you have an AS account you'll get credit. That's probably best |
