MileagePlus Membership Happy Anniversary Messages
I was waiting to board a flight to EWR last night & about 5 min before boarding they paged me to the podium. I figured I was being downgraded (why else would they call me up) & put my fighting face on. There was a CS supervisor & 3 agents standing there & when I approached the supervisor handed me a card & congratulated me on my 20th year with Mileage Plus. It was a nice touch and the agents were very friendly & laughed cuz they knew I thought it was bad news at first. I never saw this before but thought it was a nice thing to do that costs UA nothing but made me feel appreciated for 5 min (till I boarded

I reached my 20th anniversary with United Mileage Plus this July and was expecting at least an e-mail congratulating me. I did not receive anything. My general member AAdvantage friend received an e-mail for his 20th anniversary with AA.

It might also be from when he raised a ruckus (rightfully so) a few months ago with UA. Figured keep him happy to keep his business. Problem is they're setting a possible unrealistic expectation going forward.

Similar situation happened to me departing MCI last month. After I was seated, and before the door closed, the GA entered the plane, walked down the aisle to my seat, and presented me with a card, thanking me for 25 years with United.
My first trip was in college, in 1987. The professor for whom I was working, and was accompanying to Seoul, Korea, for a demo, were both upgraded to FC DEN-LAX-Tokyo. Sadly, that will most likely never happen again.

Nothing has happened to me.
I am 29 years with United, over 30 years with TWA (which was taken over by American). I am also 20 years with Continental, which was the last major enrollment for me. By that time, I was with all the major programs.
