But how about this... Why take a feature that worked away? Was it because the new system simply didn't have that capability? Or perhaps it cost too much to implement? Or perhaps the goal was to purposely eliminate that cspabilityt to accommodate ToD'$ as opposed to rewarding loyalty? Or perhaps it is simply saying that SHARES and its assorted subsystems fall into the old joke of "Windows 98 equals Mac 1984" where SHARES is windows 98 Regardless, as quirky as PMUA's system was, it worked and what has occurred in, as you put it "2012", has been a classic case of going against "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" |
One more update. It's 12:20am on the west coast. I just had a chance to call UA again and ask why I'm not on the list online.
The agent immediately put me on hold and called a supervisor. Out of nowhere I appeared as #2 on the list. No "R" space is open and thanks to UA's ........ move of blocking access to it I have no idea when/if it opens before takeoff. Mobile.com does show I'm #2 at this point. All the agent would say is there's a glitch in the system. No explanation for why I wasn't there or how she got me on the list. -RM |

Welcome to September 2012. That option doesn't exist anymore.

So, if it's an airport function why was RobOnLi able to do it over the phone?

Not that people want to hear it, but I'll repeat that the solution to getting back on the list after OLCI is to deal with an airport agent. It is an airport function and the phone reps don't deal with it so they're looking at different systems and they don't do it as part of their regular work. That's why they always sound like they have no idea what you're talking about when you call in: they really don't.

GPU waitlist removed at check-in
Fwiw similar experience for dtw-ord-sea on 9/9. Upgraded
w/ Rpu on booking, dtw-ord cleared promptly , ord-sea wait listed. Now -24 out name NOT on UG waitlist, but was offered TOD for $209. Huh! |

My GPUs don't seem to make it from the waitlisted to the check in list at T24. An agent spent 45 mins getting me back in the system. This is the third international flight in a row that this has occurred.

Feel free to call in repeatedly and fight with the agents about it for hours if you want. |
