saw a 787 this morning at IAH parked well away from the United terminals without any activity maybe it's one of the planes with engine problems it was almost hidden behind some old buildings and no where near a hangar

UA CLE-LAX? I think they mean ORD-LAX, although we will take the 787 on CLE-LAX.

EWR-IAH Dreamliner in March?

Has the Dreamliner schedule been released for March 2013 year? I'm going to a wedding in Houston and flying EWR-IAH, but I don't see the Dreamliner on any routes in early March (3/8-9-10). Is it really the case that it's not flying those days? I thought it was a daily flight? But then I did some digging and it's only listed as "daily" until January 3... http://travel.usatoday.com/flights/p...liner/835125/1

So should I just book a flight, and hope for an equipment change? Or am I really stuck?

(Both the 764 and the Dreamliner have full flat beds, right? If I can't get the Dreamliner I'll probably take the 764.)

Thanks!

When I last checked the June schedule the only domestic route flying the 787 was DEN-IAH probably for aircraft positioning/flow for the NRT flight. No 787's at EWR or ORD. This could change but most aircraft will be flying international routes from IAH, DEN, and LAX for next year.

I wouldn't expect the 787 to be on the EWR-IAH route once they start sending it on long haul flights. It doesn't mesh with the fleet utilization plans.

In March I see the ORD-IAH flight as a 787, you could try to do a EWR-ORD-IAH buy you will probably have to pay more. With so many EWR-IAH flights the most coneections are being routed through MCO.

Got it, thanks. So I guess they are only flying it on a temporary basis for now until they open up the long haul routes?

I'm using miles on an award so I may book through ORD just to check out the new aircraft... thanks.

Definitely not perfect, but gets a good sense of where the plane went.

This may or may not be more accurate:

Hmm - got this from UA today. Didn't get the same for the SFO-IAH 132 on 11/21 so fingers crossed there:

"At the time when you booked your flight, we expected that it would operate with one of our new 787 Dreamliner aircraft. However, due to unexpected delays in some of our 787 deliveries from Boeing, your flight from Houston, TX, (IAH) to Newark, NJ, (EWR) on 11/22/2012, is now scheduled to operate with a Boeing 767 aircraft.

We understand that many customers are excited about the new plane and booked their flights accordingly. We apologize for any inconvenience or disappointment resulting from this change. Thank you for flying with United, and we look forward to welcoming you onboard a 787 Dreamliner in the near future."
