Will flight schedule changes convert a layover to a stopover?

A passenger has an award ticket in May 2013 with many long layovers (20 hours or longer) from HKG to LIS via BKK, ARN, OSL, BUD, MUC and FRA. (Yes, he intentionally did that for some one-day trips in several cities.) The ticket has been issued some days ago after the rate desk had verified that all layovers are less than 24 hours.

If one of the intermediate flights have a schedule change some time before May which extends a layover to 24 hours or more, would there be any problem? It is a one-way ticket which doesn't allow stopovers.

No it won't be a problem.. once it's ticketed if they make changes they're not going to suddenly tell you the award is no longer valid.

Thanks for the quick answer. :)
The itinerary involves three layovers of 23 hours or longer, so a slight change in schedule may extend a layover to over the limit. Thanks for clearing worries. :)

I had a trip / ticket with stopovers costing $100 each. My original itineary did not have any stopovers (24+ hours). After a pre-departure schedule change, the intineary ended up with a 24+ hour 'connection' - as in I was not charged for the new 24+ hours connection/stopover.
