Rules for Paid E+ Access Seat Changes?

I am booked on a long haul domestic flight. Client said splurge and buy E+.
Only decent seat was a limited recline Row 11 aisle on a 320.
Question is, when I OCLI, can I change to another E+ seat that may be more comfortable. Or do I have to change to one that costs the same amount as my current seat. I assume at the airport none of that matters.

Since you have paid for an e+ seat, you can change your e+ seat to any other e+ seat if one opens up at no cost so with that, periodically check the seat map on your flight between now and the time the upgrade window opens up as if someone in e+ had their upgrade clear, you can grab that seat but then once the upgrade window opens, check daily (and multiple times during the day) for the same thing. Then check at OLCI, then use with one of the chickens at the airport and finally with the gate agent.

Really? I've seen prices vary for different E+ seats (e.g. limited recline E+ costs less than reclining exit row E+). Could one buy the cheapest E+ seat and then switch to a more expensive one for free?

There might be a glitch that will allow you to change seats in Y+ as Goalie states. Although prices do vary (depending on seat type) you should be able to move around since the product is E+ which is 5 inches of legroom.

It used to be that all E+ seats were the same cost..not anymore. You'll only be able to assign yourself to an E+ seat that costs the same or less than the one you paid for. On board the plane they haven't moved to enforcement of that so if something is open and you're already in E+ you'd likely be able to move.

This was one of the things that UA liked better about SHARES..it allowed the functionality to charge different amounts on a seat by seat basis. Apollo couldn't do that.
