Upgrade notification - by text message?

Is it possible to get notice of UDU or the like via a text message? I couldn't find this option (only see e mail) but I would think this would be very easy for UA to do if they currently don't offer it.

?

Yes..it's always been possible. It's in the flight status notification section of your profile. I've got mine set up for texts.

That's for flight delays and the like. I have this as well; it doesn't send you a text when you get upgraded.

I've gotten SMS for upgrades as well. You can disable this function if you want here:

Still confused. Where it says:

___ Send me text-only messages

I believe that refers to the e mail configuration (text vs. HTML).

I stil don't see how to add a mobile phone number to get upgrade notifications via text message.

You can receive email as sms, just double-check with your carrier

Well, that didn't work, but I think it needs to be:

[email protected]

Where the x's are the phone number, no dashes, no 1 beforehand.

We'll give it another try . . .

Still tryin'

I still have not been able to get this to work. Does anyone have the definitive answer on how to get upgrade notifications as text/SMS messages?

Fwiw, I have been completely unsuccessful since 3/3 in being able to receive anything other than sporadic (n.b. sporadic) flight departure reminders via sms. My carrier is AT&T and it worked like a charm under PMUA but again, post 3/3 I get bupkes

My company uses AMEX and our stuff also shows up in Tripcase. We get notification when the ticket has changed due to upgrade - but that seems to be an AMEX ticket tracking system function, not Tripcase.

Regular RPU/GPUs do end up sending e-mails when they clear > 24 hours. I have never gotten one for CPU from United.
