But don't you think him/her praying to someone else's god is taking advantage of said god? That seems unethical, I think that god should unilaterally cancel all prayers.

(Hopefully I didn't go too far there. Just joking around.)

no that would be not answering your phone for the last 3 days from any number not in your contact list.

Somebody just posted this on "Dan's Deals"

I just got off the phone with with UA the rep said they are not honoring the tickets and they are going to cancel them. I asked him if he can compensate me for the problem, he offered me $100 per person or i can call customer care and they can offer me something more substantial.
Seems a bit strange to me..

I'd just like to say something.
I've been consistently reading FT and the travel blogs for a while now, but never contributing. Mostly because I felt I had little of substance to add as a relative newbie and didn't want to clog the threads with unuseful banter.
This topic brought me out of the dark, but not to complain or flame or troll. I really appreciate the fact that we have this community, and that we are all in this together - both those with potential tickets and those with a general interest in this industry and hobby. There will always be trolls and haters, but by and large I feel like FT and the general travel community are an amazing resource.
So, good luck everyone, and no matter how it plays out I'm glad we have the ability to connect and share about travel, and I plan to be as helpful a community member as I can.

It does. Though he says he's 1K and it was a Supervisor he spoke with. Still, I wonder if his was flagged from the infant change thingy (which I still don't quite follow - something about charging him $1,500 if he wanted to add the baby?)

very strange, they could try to buy people at a low rate... in pre DoT days, the Qantas/AA deal started with 200 buck offers of compensation and went up to 600...

Could it be wanting to charge the Infant 10% of a full rate?

I might pay 8 miles or even 48 miles, as the first article said this was 1/12 the normal rate...

Why in the world didn't he just book the infant a seat?

A. 10% of full fare F ($10,000) = $1000

or

B. 4 miles + ~$50 in tax

Touch choice....

I looked at his post history on DD. Most of them are in the 4 mile thread. He also admitted calling after it died because he forgot to book a child in the reservation. Maybe another reason not to call even after a deal is dead.

**Sorry I missed the posts above when I was looking at DD
