Interlining UA/CA Baggage from SFO

Interlining UA/CA Baggage from SFO
Hi All -

Question on interlining UA/CA Baggage.

CA-ticket number Itinerary:
UA SFO-LAX
CA LAX-PEK

As a Silver I get one bag free on United.
On Air China, I get two free bags in Y.

Which one of the following scenario is correct assuming two checked bags within 50lb limit each?

#1 Free, flights under CA policy
#2 $35 for second bag, because of the SFO-LAX leg on United only, free 1st bag for Silvers
#3 $70 for second bag, because the itinerary is from SFO to PEK, even though LAX to PEK is on CA.

I think the longest leg is what counts, and since that is CA LAX-PEK, their baggage rules should apply

The MSC rules would suggest that you get 2 free. Whether UA is in compliance yet or not is a whole different can of worms.
