At the FT dinner with UA folks a while back we were proudly told that they had killed off the horrible hold message, which also includes "there, and there, and there, and there"...and today I have had the joy of hearing this over and over and over and over again. Maybe if they bring this back they can also bring back old award charts and qualifying status?

One enhancement of my calling the 1K phone # is I have not had to hear this.

I'm convinced that awful, drunk-sounding voice is tied to my 1K MP number. I also seem to get it when I call and placed on hold.

Maybe it depends on how long one is on hold.

the other day my wife commented to me about how much free time i have lately since i stopped flying UA and am not on the phone with them all the time. i guess not having to listen to the revival of there, and There and THERE is another fringe benefit.

It makes me nostalgic for an older, simpler time, with $400 MRs from EWR-HNL, no minimum fare class for upgrades, and proper customer service. Oh wait that was only a couple years ago.

Cool it folks...you are all missing my tongue-in-cheek sarcasm in my first reply to the OP. I went back and added the little sarcasm icon to make it clear, but many of you are still missing that.

My remark is sarcastic!!!!

What about a Thai guy saying "Yin Dee Ton Rub" (welcome in Thai) on the safety video?
