He's right. HNL res agents are the best in the system without doubt. But Unfortunatly, this is CO now & CO rules. UA may have Donne that in the past but a "GOOD" CO agent is who you need for this. The problem is there are not many GREAT CO agents so GOOD LUCK. I don't see how what you want to do is psbl without losing BOTH SQ seats

I don't know why on earth many UA agents claim that !!!

PNR splitting can be done without canceling the confirmed seats.

+1, you just need to find the right agent. I was able to split a PNR last week.

Ok thanks for the advice - what time of the day increases probability of good CO agent - UA HNL is late evening EST.

Does SQ release any additional J/F inventory close to the departure (similar to LH)?

I'll be traveling on SQ1 (SFO-SIN) in the next few days, but unfortunately when I was booking my trip there was no award availability on SQ1 HKG-SIN segment so I booked the next SQ flight in J. I was keeping an eye on the inventory hoping that something would open up on SQ1 either in F or J, but so far only X is available.

Is there any chance that if I arrive in HKG and there is F/J space on SQ1, that they would re-accommodate me on that flight? Or is that pretty much impossible due to the fact that it was booked through UA MP?

I think impossible is the right word.

Simple answer, No. Unless there is another accidental floodgate from SQ there will be no A380/A345/77W J/F/R awards on MP.

SQ J was occasionally available before the flood of availability.

But not on the 77W,A380,A345. I've never heard of J/F/R being released on those planes. It's possible you saw phantom availability. The only J available before the flood was regional J on the 773/A330

No, I had seen J on the A380 (JFK-FRA, namely) well before this. A few of the "bloggers" grabbed seats on the A345 as well since it opened up this Spring.

I can't think of any particular routes for the 77W that I was especially interested in, but the availability might have been there.

Yes there were two interesting trip reports of J on the A345 EWR-SIN route long before the floodgates opened.

3 weeks today for our SFO-ICN-SIN-MLE adventure, can't wait!

This is false.

J availability was routinely available on the A380 on a number of routes, including JFK-FRA-SIN, SIN-SYD, and SIN-MEL. I booked and traveled on the A380 via MP redemptions this spring. I also saw 77W (SIN-AKL) available and briefly had it booked before United blew up my RTW (sob story skipped) with their 3/3 "upgrade".

That said, it's rare as hen's teeth on most routes, especially west-coast to Asia.

, SQ did very rarely let a few seats go in J on the 380 from JFK & on SQ 15/16 between ICN-SFO on the 77W. These are rare but psbl. Never seen F though

Wow this is a first. Are all these pre-3/3 events ? Other than the floodgate, the only seats I ever see are those boring regional J seats.
