Due to the length of concourse B, a connection under an hour when the arriving or departing flight is a UA mainline aircraft, is not advised. If you arrive on the far west end and depart on the far east end, then allowing for the time it takes deboard the plane, and the 20 minute cut off when UA starts to cancel seat assignments, you are unlikely to make your connection. Of course sitting in the front of the arriving plane helps as does having no green tagged bags.

However, if both aircraft are United Express, then a 45 minute connection is acceptable because all United Express flights arrive and depart on the east end of concourse B. Due to construction some United Express flights are utilizing concourse A which requires a transfer via train.

While true, that's much too short for my comfort level. Others' perspectives clearly vary

On that note, here's what the wiki says:

Due to the length of concourse B, a connection under an hour when the arriving or departing flight is a UA mainline aircraft, is not advised. If you arrive on the far west end and depart on the far east end, then allowing for the time it takes deboard the plane, and the 20 minute cut off when UA starts to cancel seat assignments, you are unlikely to make your connection. Of course sitting in the front of the arriving plane helps as does having no green tagged bags.

An hour for mainline to mainline is crazy. With the moving walkways you can make it the length of the concourse in 10 minutes. Factor on deplaning and being at the gate on time and the min connection time is reasonable if you aren't going to/from RJ land.

You are probably going to be fine, but for me personally I wouldn't cut it that close. It could be a long walk in DEN and they will likely already be boarding when you get to the connecting gate, assuming everything is on time. Make sure you sit as close to the front of your flight from BOS as possible, that could save you 5-10 minutes

Without flight delays (less than 15 minutes late to the gate), you can make it to ANY flight on the B concourse within an additional 10 minutes. If your connection is the last flight of the day and the GAs know about incoming late connections, they generally keep the doors open until departure and do not cancel your seat.

So, 40 minutes should be plenty as a general rule, 30 is too close. Delays beyond the usual 15 minutes and all bets are off.

I can make it from my seat to the west side curb in 10-15 minutes (depending on arrival gate and how long I have to wait for the train). 60 minutes for a connection seems excessive to me (even if arriving on UAX).

If you're toward the back of the 752 and there are any delays at all you could miss the connection. I would book via ORD and enjoy the layover.

I had a 45-minute connection TPA-DEN-YYZ in late 2012 and I had to walk almost the length of the B terminal from one end to the very far end with the RJ gates. I made it but I had to walk briskly.

Of course, as has always happened for me when I rush to make a tight connection, my next flight ended up running late and I had time to relax. Murphy's law.

I wouldn't intentionally choose a connection under an hour unless circumstances require it. (I needed to do it to avoid flying through IAD during Hurricane Sandy.)

I have an upcoming LAS-DEN-XXX flight, with a 49 minute connection in Denver. Both flights are mainline. The LAS flight is early morning, the first flight of the day for the aircraft. Flightaware and UA show that it is pretty timely.

Will 49 minutes be enough? Will be carrying on luggage.

Should be fine, especially if you're near the front. But it won't be a leisurely connection.

Ironically - and very timely to your question - I actually had a LAS-DEN-ORD last night with a 48 min connection. If the DEN-ORD wasn't delayed, I would never have made it.

If your LAS flight is late - as mine was - that can screw it up. If your gates in DEN are far apart, same thing.* The boarding time for my ORD flight was three minutes after you "arrive" in DEN. That tells you something.

Carry-on? Good luck finding space for them too when you board.

I certainly wouldn't do it again.

* We parked at B29. Many on our flight last night were on UX connections in the 80's and 90's. Talk about a schlep.

I'm planning on purchasing a ticket from YVR to HNL via DEN and SFO to maximize mileage accrual in December. However, I am a little concerned about the 45 minute connection time in DEN coming in from YVR. 45 minutes is normally plenty of time for a connection in ideal conditions, but I am unfamiliar with the weather at DEN in December. Should I be concerned, or is it okay? Thanks.

Suggest that folks answer this general weather/airport question in your thread here: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/west/...-december.html

I would be concerned. However, there are so many routings to HNL that it probably won't be a problem unless you're booked in F and want to stay in F.
