Due to the length of concourse B, a connection under an hour when the arriving or departing flight is a UA mainline aircraft, is not advised. If you arrive on the far west end and depart on the far east end, then allowing for the time it takes deboard the plane, and the 20 minute cut off when UA starts to cancel seat assignments, you are unlikely to make your connection. Of course sitting in the front of the arriving plane helps as does having no green tagged bags.

However, if both aircraft are United Express, then a 45 minute connection is acceptable because all United Express flights arrive and depart on the east end of concourse B. Due to construction some United Express flights are utilizing concourse A which requires a transfer via train.

Everything You Wanted to Know Flying UA at Denver Intl (DEN)

Security (TSA Pre):
• North Security 4am-7:45pm
• South Security 4am-7:45pm, but checkpoint is 24/7, PreCheck pax receive expedited screening through standard lanes when full PreCheck is closed via laminated card.
• A Bridge does NOT have PreCheck but hours are 4:30am-5:45pm

Security (Non-TSA Pre):
• Terminal North TSA checkpoint - 4am-7:45pm
• Terminal South TSA checkpoint – 24/7
• A Bridge TSA checkpoint - 4:30am-5:45pm

Places to Eat on Concourse B (FT Favorites)
• Coffee: Caribou Coffee (Mezzanine level in center of concourse), Starbucks (B83 in the RJ Gates)
• Fast Food: Modmarket (Main level in center of concourse by McDonalds, NE corner), Steve's Snappin' Dogs (B24), ShakeShack on Mezzanine Center Core
• Breakfast: Pour La France (Main level in center of concourse, NW corner), Snooze an A.M. Eatery and Voodoo Donuts, on Mezzanine Center Core.
• Lunch/Dinner: Elways (Main level in center of concourse, SW corner), Etai's Bakery Café (B22), Que Bueno! Mexican Grille (B52), Aviators (Mezzanine level in center of concourse)

• 1hr to 1hr 30min (assuming a walk from B15 down to B90)
• Standard D/D MCT (UA-UA) is 30 minutes and 50 minutes for another carrier

"Suggested" Connection Times (International to Domestic, non-Pre Clear)
• 1hr 30 min to 2hrs (depending on use of GE/no-GE and security lines)
• Standard I/D MCT is 70 minutes and longer

United Club Locations (Two Clubs)
• B32 (West Club): 4:30am to 9:30pm daily
• B44 (East Club): CLOSED for Remodeling
• B59 (East Pop-Up Club): 7:00am to 9:30pm daily

If you don't mind wandering down to the regional gates, New Belgium brewery has a nice little restaurant. Pub sort of food, and New Belgium brews on tap. I try to spend some time there anytime I connect through DEN.

You can sometimes make a 7 minute connection, but if there is any other option....

The inbound UAX flight was delayed half an hour, and by the time we deplaned my connection from Gate 92 to Gate 47 was 7 minutes. Ugh. Got off the plane, made a very brief stop at the next gate where there were two agents and no customers and said "Could you please call Gate 47 and tell them they have a runner!" and sprinted off. Got to Gate 47 and as I was coming up the agent said "Mr. cblaisd?" I said "yes" between catching my breath, he scanned my boarding pass, and closed the jetway door behind me.

90 minutes connections are way less stress, if not quite as good cardio....

If the second flight had been in the 20s gates (as sometimes is the case), I never would have made it.

I had decent tacos with great habenero salsa in the B terminal. Worth visiting if you like really hot foot.

Hmmm, 3 hours to kill at DIA. I second the FT'er who recommended New Belgium near the UA Baby Jet concourse. For food I like Chef Jimmy's in concourse A; the Chop House is there also, good but overpriced IMO. The only way you can see the interior of the fabric-topped terminal building is to exit security, no big deal. Some of the public "art" in the terminal (and the "conspiracy behind DIA") can be previewed at http://vigilantcitizen.com/sinisters...ional-airport/. Then walk over the bridge (good views, eats time) to concourse A, re-enter security there and catch the train back to concourse B. You've seen it all, except of course for the maze of secret tunnels from which the New World Order will eminate.

I'm flying from Washington Dulles to Portland, Oregon via Denver this summer. I have an hour and 12 minute layover. Will I have enough time to make my flight to Portland?

advice needed to kix

my significant other was suppose to fly cle-ord-sfo tonight then sfo-kix on april 2 He arrived at the airport to find out that flight was cancelled. they put him in hotel and gave him cle-den-sfo-kix leaving at 6:00am on the 2nd. It is only a 40 min layover in DEN. Does he have enough time to make it? There is only one flight to KIX, is there an alternative if misses the connection to sfo? He is flying business class, and will have a checked bag.

is it possible, yes if all is ontime and a little hustle if the gates are worst case separated in DEN. (get a seat in front/near exit for CLE-DEN)

Another option is get to ORD/ IAD /DEN / SFO tonight.

Or start looking at other carriers into KIX.

KIX should be accessible by OZ or NH if the 11 a.m. departure to KIX is missed and he can get UA to reroute him. The NRT flight leaves a little later and my bags came from there when my tight connection didn't let them get onto 885 to KIX. And depending on the urgency, the trains from NRT down to Osaka should be possible too if he can get to Japan via ORD, SFO, or others.

I'm considering a MCO-DEN-LAX itinerary in early September. It's late evening, 54-minute connection time -- arriving at 6:03 PM and departing at 6:57 PM.

From what I've read, it seems like it should be enough, provided I arrive on-time. Is that likely in early September?

A misconnect wouldn't be too bad, as a DEN-SFO-LAX route departs at 7:43 PM (though I do get in a hair short of midnight into LAX).

Thoughts?

I think you'll be fine with that connection. Since you'll be going mainline > mainline, you won't have quite as long of a walk that you would if you were flying going UX > Mainline (or v.v), which will greatly speed up your time between gates.. It's also quite possible that you'll go in and out of the same gate area, which would leave time for an RCC visit or food stop..

Short DEN Connection

I'm looking at an award flight that has a 40 min connection in DEN. I'm not familiar with the airport - is this timeframe easy:do-able:unrealistic?
I' connecting from a UA flight to a United Express flight - and would be ticked through form my original destination - but, i would have a checked bag to consider also.
TIA for opinions.

Doable if the inbound is on time.

Worst case scenario would be arriving at B93 and connecting to B16 (almost a mile, according to my Google Maps distance-measuring app!!!), in which case I'd be a tad nervous if I had gate-checked a bag. Multiple moving walkways help; my guess is that one could power-walk from one end to the other in no more than 15 minutes, and probably 10 if you included some jogging. I always terminate at DEN, so others who have actually done such connections may have better information.

It's doable but it'll be tight. Definitely pick a seat toward the front of the plane on your inbound. Gate check shouldn't be an issue since your inbound is on a mainline plane. If arrive into the B20ish area you'll be fine, if you arrive on the other side it is a longggg walk. That being said it's straight with lots of moving walkways and no terminal changes like you'd face at IAD / ORD / IAH. That being said if you have delays you might run into trouble. If it's the last flight of the night I might see if there were other options, if there are other flights after you're probably fine since you have a backup on the same day if you misconnect (provided you aren't traveling on a busy travel day where the later flights are sold out).

Your checked bag should make it regardless. In most instance there is a higher chance your checked bag will make it than you on a tight connection.
