Due to the length of concourse B, a connection under an hour when the arriving or departing flight is a UA mainline aircraft, is not advised. If you arrive on the far west end and depart on the far east end, then allowing for the time it takes deboard the plane, and the 20 minute cut off when UA starts to cancel seat assignments, you are unlikely to make your connection. Of course sitting in the front of the arriving plane helps as does having no green tagged bags.

However, if both aircraft are United Express, then a 45 minute connection is acceptable because all United Express flights arrive and depart on the east end of concourse B. Due to construction some United Express flights are utilizing concourse A which requires a transfer via train.

In abstract, perhaps yes, but in practice the representatives seem to be able to see schedule changes that happened at any time on the history of the reservation (presumably because the ticket is reissued or revalidated or something), and they won't hold it against you that you clicked accept. I'm not even sure they can tell whether or not you clicked accept.

If my connection time to DEN is only 45min, flying in/out on United, will that be enough time to visit and eat at the new priority pass restaurant (Timberline Steaks)? I don't suppose if the restaurant can do a take out order within 15min?

It would take a miracle.

Hi All
I have an upcoming flt from SFO to DEN. Originally I have an hr to catch my connecting flt to FRA. Now my flt leaves 25mins later and my connecting time is only 45mins. Will I be able to catch my connecting flt? Also, I have checked the website and a change of flt will incur $300 change fee. Is that fair? Any suggestion is much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I assume you are on the 5:30p LH direct flight to FRA. That flight leaves out of terminal A while all UA flights depart and arrive in term B (except for intl arrivals). Based on what you've described, I assume you are arriving DEN on UA1858 from SFO which lands around 4:45p. While 45 mins is normally very do-able for UA-UA connections, I wouldn't chance it for an international flight. You will likely be arriving at the same time LH starts boarding. You'll need at least 15 mins to deplane and catch the train between terminals leaving very little room for error.

Consider calling and trying to get on one of the earlier SFO-DEN flights (of which there are many per day). Oftentimes the flight times are padded and most do arrive early especially those going west to east, but since there are no other options to get to FRA that same day, any delay will likely cause you to misconnect and force you to overnight in DEN. Call reservations and they will likely waive the change fee. Otherwise do a SDC 24 hours in advance at check-in.

Wow, you got my scheduled flts exactly right - should have put them in my post. Will call reservations if they will change me to an earlier flt to DEN without the change fees. Sorry, I don't know what SDC 24 hours in advance is. Thks for yr wise reply.

Same Day Change. You can check-in 24 hours before departure and request a same day change to another flight. It's like standby only confirmed as long as seats are available. If you are Gold or higher then there is no fee, otherwise it's $75.

https://www.united.com/web/en-US/con...daychange.aspx

I wouldn't worry though, reservations will more than likely waive any change fees since your original schedule incurred a change which resulted in going below the Minimum Connection Time (MCT). Is your FRA flight on the same reservation or are they separate tickets?

Obviously a legal connection (above minimum connect time). Yes, it is especially if you are in front. Only issue is delay from IAD. You might want to look at record of on time performance of the flight to see your chances as well as see when next flight to Eugene leaves in case of mis-connect.
If you miss flight UA responsible for getting you to Eugene (GO DUCKS!).

A 55-minute connection will be fine if your IAD-DEN flight is on time, even by the DOT definition (no more than 14 minutes late), unless you have limited mobility (health, small children, etc.). If your flight isn't on-time, you might try to get re-routed through SFO, as they seem to have more SFO-EUG flights than DEN-EUG flights.

What time is your IAD-DEN flight? If early morning, I'd bet on it being ok. If mid-afternoon, I'd bet against it being on time.

I just did a 38 minute connection in DEN yesterday. LAX-DEN flight arrived 20+ min early, was an absolute breeze. But this was the second LAX-DEN flight out of the morning.

Maybe not. You'll be coming into the A concourse and will be clearing customs. Unless there's something I don't know, you will have to get your luggage and recheck it with United. EUG flights have started to vary from mainline to express flights so hard to know the possible gate except at that time of day, it is most likely to be on the B Concourse(there are occasional flights from A but it's when Lufthansa isn't using the gate.

If you have no checked luggage and have global entry and already are checked in for the EUG flight, maybe.

OP is traveling LON-IAD-DEN-EUG. This advice is for travelers on LON-DEN-EUG. 55 minutes is way too short for that, but the stop at IAD makes all the difference.

There's a reasonably high chance of thunderstorms at DEN on summer evenings, although they're likely to delay DEN-EUG just as much as IAD-DEN.
