Strange 777-200 configuration

I came a cross a strange United 777-200 configuration.
It appears on Flight UA90 on August 17th (EWR - TLV).

Normally, this is a pre-merger CO flight, so I would expect this layout:
http://www.seatguru.com/airlines/Uni...7_200_Flat.php

However, note that the August 17th flight doesn't have row 27 included in it.
In addition, on UA's web site, it doesn't block rows 17-25, as it normally does for non-elite passengers.

I couldn't find on SeatGuru any other UA's 777-200 configuration identical to this one.

Any ideas? A system glitch?

It could be a glitch or it could be one of the first PMCO 772s that's been reconfigured with E+ seating.

This is what I normally see for this route (and it does include E+ seats):

That's the PMCO "Economy Plus"...

You are looking at the NEW configuration with E+. that's the blue seats. The 2nd picture you showed of the configuration your used to DOES NOT HAVE E+. they just have the first 10 or so rows reserved for premiers but w no extra leg room.

Those blue seats on the new configuration are reserved for Gold and above or anyone can pay extra for one (Silvers can also get E+ free within 24 hours of departure

The reason the new config is missing a few rows is there are less roes in economy

No, it DOES NOT include E+ seats. The fact that PMCOM SEAT MAPS HAVE THE FIRST 5-10 rows shaded in grey and reserved for premiers but w no extra leg room, etc

Looks like they are going with less E+ seating and more E- than the UA version, which had 100+ E+ seats in the forward Y section. This only has 63.

Looks like they only took out one row - so # of E+ rows (not including the bulkhead row) went from 11 to 10. So the space per seat went from 31" to 34". Better but still among the weaker E+ products a la the 747 and current PS 757.

You are all correct - only now I noticed that on the other flights they only marked the exit row (and bulkhead) seats as E+, and apparently the front rows seats does NOT have extra leg room.

Thanks!

Looks like SeatGuru has some work to do, adding another type of 777-200 configuration.

Looks like both direct EWR-TLV flights have the same config on that day so there's more than one 777 expected to be reconfigured.

The EWR-FRA/MUC/LHR direct flights on the same day also have the new config.

UA35 LHR-IAH on 31/07/12 is still shows old CO config, but return flight UA34 on 08/14/12 shows revised config.

Got an email from EL AL that sometime in the next few weeks they will start flying their 747's with E+. From what I saw in the email it looks a lot better than their old Sardine class. This is competition at its best.

PMCO 777-200 E+ from Aug 14th?

Have found several instances where outbound flights from the US on 8/13 are showing the non E+ configuration, and a new E+ inclusive configuration on 8/14.

Haven't seen any announcements as yet, but it seems that 8/14/12 is going to be the date for a blanket introduction of E+ on the CO 777's.

The new layout can be found in this thread

Not quite. They pulled out one row but they are distributing that 31" over 6 rows, meaning the pitch should be 35-36" in those seats. There are only 7 E+ rows (including the bulkhead) in that cabin.

According to the diagram, rows 23 - 26 are not E+. If you don't count row 16 also, only rows 17 - 22 are E+. So 31 inches spread out evenly by 6 rows, that's more than 5 inches increased per row.
