Not only did the Browns play a terrible game yesterday but had a very rough landing. I was looking the radar while the plane was enroute and a line of thunderstorms were approaching. See Flight Aware UA 1830 from yesterday CVG-CLE and you can see the radar. There was discussion of busing back instead of flying. Maybe to play it safe they could have delayed the flight a few hours.

1828 is Washington Redskins charter flight.
I am pretty sure teams fly out of Topeka when they play in Lawrence, KS.
1827 is the New York Jets charter flight.

United 767-400 in BNA
I was driving through Nashville today, and I decided to drive through the terminal arrivals level.
To my surprise I saw N67058 at the last gate! In an airport that only sees ERJs. It was a surprise.
Is it a diverted flight? FRA to IAH?

UA 1838 is up right now going Kansas City to Indianapolis. Since I don't think it is a regular UA route (not with a 767 anyway!) I assume it is for this weekend's playoff game.
And maybe add Nebraska to the list posted. I saw a 747 going from Lincoln to Jacksonville right after Christmas. I again assumed it was the 'Huskers going to play in the Gator Bowl.

Why Do the San Francisco 49ers Charter DL Instead of UA?
So the 49ers are boarding a Delta Charter......
I understand it's a competitive bid process that these NFL teams go through for their charters. Dollars are dollars.
But for the sake of employee welfare and community relations, UA with probably 5000-10000 SFO based employees would have the sense to 'do whatever it takes' to make the contract right.
And conversely, the 49ers, always wanting to seem like such a community partner, that they turn their back on the UA staff that roots for the team.
I wonder which airline the Atlanta Falcons charter?
shaking my head.....
