You can get United Club passes on eBay for around $20 each (no need to pay $59)

As tom911 mentioned it's more a question for the UA forum, but the easiest is to buy them via the app. I believe it generates a scannable code which you can then send/print off/etc. The more cost efficient is to buy them on the secondary market. They usually go for $20-30 each on ebay, or if you live in a UA hub, I find them common on craigslist living here in Houston.

The passes will be canceled at the same time.
good karma by giving them away to someone who is traveling before you cancel the card.
not a good idea if you have miles in you UA account that UA could cancel.
Generally this isn't done unless you have some extenuating circumstances -- and doubt that not traveling by choice would be a qualifying reason.

There is clear evidence of UA closing accounts for selling GPUs, ETCs, .... and issues with purchased UC passes being found to be void / used. For the $10 you might get for a UC passed, it is not worth it.

I'm on your side, UA isn't going to go after anyone selling passes. It's not worth their time.
However, they theoretically could, because what UA would do is buy up GPU/RPUs on eBay themselves pretending to be customers. Then they would ban the members they bought from. But a GPU/RPU is much more potential revenue loss to UA then a club pass, which is why we've never heard of the latter causing issues.
