Passing along compliments on the flight crew
I flew back on flight 955J, LHR-SFO non-stop, this past Monday. The FA's serving International Business First were top notch. I asked Heather, one of the FA's in my cabin, about who to contact and she said to go to United.com and use the feedback option and put Attn: Sam Risoli on the box. I don't know if it got to this person. Back in the days when I complimented a flight crew on CO, there was an actual SVP I could email.
How can I accomplish the same thing with UA? Eric |
I had a Heather from CLE to SFO yesterday. Amazing. Wonder if it was the same one ... Did she have a big button of her kid on her apron? Would definitely give her an attaboy.
|
No, but she was part of the SFO based crew. Was your Heather as well? I have to admit, the Int'l Biz FC wasn't as great an experience overall as I thought it would be. It was good, but not sure it was really worth the extra money I paid for the upgrade.

The feedback option on the web site is about the only thing that works without a hitch. I've complemented about 4 employees over the past several months, who hung in there through the Shares fiasco and didn't leave me hanging.
You'll get a confirmation # after sending it and in about 2 to 3 weeks you'll get a reply from customer service thanking you for you kind comments! |

Thanks for the added: I tried calling Martin Hind, SVP of Customer Experience or something like that, but his vm was completely full (of negative feedback I am sure).

your premier CS email also works when complimenting a UA employee
I know that some say that these email addresses have gone or will go away, but I have written to 1kvoice to describe great customer service, and I have received replies back to thank me for writing about Mr. Tom Jones (made up).
On flights that I took in April, I noticed that neither the FAs nor GAs were wearing nameplates. I noticed this on UA and UA express, on crews at SFO, ORD DEN and CLE. Is this a new thing? I hope not, because I'm really bad with names and I actually try to be someone who tries to offset the avalanche of complaints that businesses must receive by making compliments. I always try to write right away to provide specific feedback about individuals who really try to help (even if circumstances prevent the outcome i desire) or who demonstrate that they like what they do and provide a good experience. I can't do that if I don't know someone's full name! |
Used to be easy to give out a GTEM on the spot - always fun to see their faces brighten. Gave out my last few for a few great agents on the 5/6 ORD meltdown.
Of course, COdbaUA no longer deems it necessary to allow us to do that :td: |
I can't say how it is now that the merger happened, but if you see the person you complimented later, ask them if they received it.
A while back while PMUA, I had great service from a GA who really helped us out during IRROPS. Being a lowly 3P with a long standby list, he managed to get my son and I onto a flight, together, in E+ so we didn't have to overnight in DEN. I wrote into UA to compliment him as I didn't have any GTEM cards handy. I mentioned his first and last name so there was no mistake. UA responded and promised to forward the compliment on to him and his supervisor. I ran into him a few months later at the DEN RCC. I was trying to buy a day pass to the RCC since i had a long layover due to a missed flight. While he was trying to process my card, I told him how he had helped me and that I wrote a compliment in to UA. I asked him if it had made it down to him and he said it hadn't, but he was quite appreciative that I took the time to write in to compliment. So don't assume they'll find out about it thru the normal chain. Be sure to tell them you complimented them. :) |
Well, I did ask one of the FA's in my cabin to call me the next time she was back in SFO with some free time so I could buy her a glass of wine at Nektar in Burlingame. If she does indeed call/email me, I'll have to ask if she received any feedback on the great service. And since I'm not quite a premier member (making Silver after my next trip, not sure if it'll be SFO to the East Coast or SFO-DUB), but I'll be there by year's end!

Before 3/3, whenever I wanted to pass along compliments about a specific employee, I'd send a snail mail to a supervisor at WHQ whose name I got from the 1K desk. I always got a nice response, and I think the fact I took the time to snail mail the compliment registered with Customer Service.

I loved the GTEMs too. I think I still have 1 or 2.

I just used one a few days ago. Have 2 left.... Why COdbaUA doesn't give them is beyond me.
