On all the 737-900s or just the particular plane that you were on?

Sorry I can't say. I only sat at 5A once a while ago but it was so bad I wouldn't sit there again just in case...

Got repeatedly booted (checked-in as 7F at -24H, upon boarding it shows different seat) to 8F or similar. Unrelated flights. Is there something special about 7F, why is this happening to me on 737-900?

7DE are blocked for those needing easily access seats, if they are part of group sometimes 7F is needed

Did you report it?

If there's ever any issue with a plane that I'm on I always report it. Just mentioning it to the pilot or an FA is enough. It could be that something is broken on that particular plane and needs to be fixed.

Any word on how bad 8ABC is on this A/C? we're 3 and its the only "E+" block available aside from the exit row( and 1 is a 2 YO, so no XR)

I would say it's fine.. no Y seat on the 739 is good except maybe 21CD, but there's nothing horrible about it. You will have the hard bulkhead of the midlav ahead with no floor storage.

Anyone know which version of 737-900 this is? Doesn't match the images in the Wiki, or on seatguru. Was considering moving up to Economy Plus for this flight, but I don't want a dumb seat with no window or no recline or something.

Images from imgur get blocked on this site.

Anyway, that is the interim map. It will turn into one of the configurations in the wiki nearer departure.

Rows 11 and 12 are the ones that might be missing windows. Row 20 (exit) has no recline. That said, seeing as you've chosen aisle + middle at present, perhaps the window isn't so important.

Hi Everyone --

Apologies if this has been answered elsewhere.

Flying the 737-900 FLL - SFO tomorrow on UA922. Currently in 7D. When I look at the flight status, 7E looks to be occupied. But when I try to change my seat, I am able to select it no problem. Any idea what's happening here? What're the chances that the seat will be unoccupied tomorrow?

Thanks so much!

Without looking through 46 pages, we're currently in 3EF SFO-LAX, but 1EF is still available. I like the idea of not being reclined into, but how is the legroom in 1EF? I'm 6'2" tall. Note that we did 2EF EWR-ORD before and I don't remember it being too bad, so I'm expecting 3EF to be the same.

7DE are blocked until check-in and can only be selected via United channels at check-in (they appear blocked still to the GDS). The odds of 7E being occupied are roughly equivalent to the odds if it were a normal unoccupied E+ seat.

Bulkheads are a personal decision. Distance from knees to the wall is markedly greater in Row 1 than knees to next seat in another row. However, the room at foot-level is significantly reduced if you are accustomed to placing your feet under the next seat, especially if you are accustomed to stretching out and placing your feet on the mounting bar of the next row. Personally I choose a non-bulkhead if it's available, but would take Row 1 over Row 5 and find it just fine.

If you're curious, I think SFO-LAX is a nice short flight to check it out.

I am 6'2" and just did SEA-IAD-SEA in 1B on a 737-900ER and found it quite acceptable. IAD-SEA was an ex-CO plane (had DirecTV) whereas SEA-IAD was not and both seemed to have the same amount of room at the bulkhead. It was not as much as current Alaska (which is 42" pitch vs. 38" on UA), but it was more than old Alaska (when it was 38" pitch).

They were identical on my two birds.
