What's up with the automated check in call?

What's up with the automated check in call?

I have a flight tomorrow and United is now calling me with some automated check in phone call. How annoying. I will check in online when I want to. Who really thought that we'd want to check in via phone?

Oh and here they are calling me back again. Ugh. When will the merger madness stop?

Hmm, must be a new thing. I haven't had a "check in" call yet, but if it was there, there must also be an opt out (I hope) under your accounts page.

For me, Mobile check-in works just fine, no need to call me Mr. United.

Check your subscription settings on the UA website for flight notifications, etc. I bet you've got a setting there to be called for a reminder.

New setting

Yep, this is a new post-merger setting. My email alerts were canceled and replaced by audio check in. Corrected it under account settings

Same here. So far, I have had two phone calls from United telling me to check in, only to fail because my passport needs scanning. You'd think they'd...never mind. It's hopeless.

Audio chech is especially useless when they call one in Shanghai on a cell phone number only used un the States.
