Help needed with booking mistakes by res. agent.

Hello,

I had booked a flight going from PHL - FRA - India.

I have been trying very hard for three months to get it into Business Class. I called an agent up today, and he said everything was available in Business Class. I said great! He proceeded to make changes.

When I looked at the record, with the agent on the phone, I realized that he was flying me from:
PHL - FRA on the 27th reaching FRA on the 28th
and FRA - India flying out on the 27th!!

That was a major screw up. He is flying me out of Frankfurt before I reach Frankfurt! Everything was put in Business Class. I quickly told him of the error, and asked him to REVERT everything back to the original economy class itinerary (which reaches India on the 28th night).

He said he was having difficulty pulling the FRA - India Economy Class itinerary back and said he would need to call me back.

Its now almost 2 hours later, and still no call! Worse - I go online and I see that he is now flying me out of Frankfurt in Economy Class on the 29th -- one day later then I was originally going to fly out (so now I'm reaching on the 29th night!)

So now he has me sitting in Frankfurt for an extra day, and he's upgraded the first half to business, and charged me the full business price! This is so unfair. I never authorized these changes.

What can I do??? I just want my old itinerary back. :(

Call back and calmly explain what happened and what you would like them to do.
Gently push for Bus class if that's what you want before you capitulate.
Don't go off on the agent as that is the person that can get things straightened out for you (hopefully)

GOOD LUCK! & Please report back!

Couldn't agree with this more. The more friendly (but firm) you are the more likely you will get what you want. If you don't get want you want call back. I know that is time consuming, but reality of trying to get what you want even though the agent messed up.

thank you both - I am taking your advice -- I spoke with an agent and the agent wanted a supervisor so I am now holding for a supervisor.

Hang tough! If a super is involved you've got a real good shot at success!

Please report back!

* relieved *

My itinerary was restored to the way it was! No business class, and a wasted morning but I'll take it :D :D

The fare classes are a bit screwed up at the moment, but I was told all that would be resolved shortly. Even if it doesn't I don't care, since the flights are the correct flights.

thanks everyone for your help!

Glad it worked out!:)

Better check it later & make sure your itin is the way you wanted it!

Why did you give up on business class so quickly? I would have pushed to have it changed back to your original dates, but all upgraded to business class for your miles. That's what the agent who messed it up told you he/she was doing.
