I had one today which was offered after check-in, which would typically not earn extra PQM etc. It booked into A, for $199 more than the Q fare booked.
It was right at the point I wouldn't consider it--but we have a tight connection and my wife was originally in a Y middle since I was in paid F, and we were trying to upgrade her via GPU. So I pulled the trigger, and voila! It's now showing in "A" with the additional PQS & PQM (PQDs haven't updated, though). She has no status, FWIW.

Domestic 747 Upgrade offered
Was purchasing a ticket for ORD-SFO. The outbound was on a 747, which is rare on this route. When I was about to purchase it offered an upgrade from Y to F for $199. Seemed like a good to deal to me. In 4K now instead of 36 something...

Seems like a good deal.
Meal will be good (though identical to the United Business passengers), and since it's the GlobalFirst Hard Product, the IFE and legroom + bed will be hard to beat.
Out of curiosity, how much was the upgrade to the Business Cabin? On a domestic route with no enhanced food or bedding, I'm not sure how much better hard GlobalFirst would be compared to a nice upper deck seat in the hard BuisnessFirst cabin.

Nice! Looks like they forgot to account for 3-cabin aircraft with the TOD algo.

Thanks United. Flying my grandmother into DTW from ORD tomorrow. Used 10k miles for ticket. Go to check her in for the 125pm flight and am offered a $39 upgrade to first on an award ticket. Seeing as she would check a bag anyways the upgrade cost a mere $14. TOD was worth it here. Ironically the economy plus upgrade was $19 so this is a better deal when factoring in the free bag check.
Upgrade list currently shows 6 as well so bypassed at least that many.

2/18 from PHX to ORD (12:35am red-eye)
Offered an upgrade for $269 at check-in. Declined the offer, and got the CPU an hour later...
